It's Angela's last day opening the library until at least July.

Things like that can make a girl sentimental. She even brought in coffee and bagels.

Come. Study. Return overdue books before you get malletized.

Cameron came in after ACJ class, then belatedly realised that he hadn't seen Angela since he'd fought with her. Oops.

"Yo!"

"Yo back," Angela told him. "Didja see the cupcakes last night?"

"I handwavily snagged a few, yeah." Cameron nodded and raised an eyebrow. "The sign was a bit of a cop out, though."

Angela pouted. "Nuh-uh. It had my name on it and everything."

Ignoring the pout, Cameron smirked. "You said you'd do it personally which means that you have to actually be there in person to do it."

"I was there!" Angela insisted. "You just didn't notice me because I was ... um ... in a corner behind a plant and under a blanket."

Cameron raised an eyebrow.

Angela gave up. "I got embarassed, so I kind of hid," she said. ~~Plus nobody came into the post anyhow.~~

"Sorry?"

"Well, they were good cupcakes," Cameron ~~who would have showed up if it hadn't taken until bedtime to keep him from flailing~~ conceded.

"I think the secret was adding extra chocklit," Angela said, in a solemn little-girl voice. Then, in her normal voice: "Though I think we got as much batter on ourselves and the kitchen as made it into the pans."

Cameron snorted. "I'm sorry I missed it. So how is it to be a girl and a teenager again?"

"Really, really good," Angela said. "I'm seriously hoping it sticks. I don't wanna test life at 90, or whatever."

"What about you, are you done being seven?"

"I don't know, I tend to agree with my younger self on certain issues," Cameron grinned. "Except for the cooties part."

"Yeah, you were all into the pilot thing even then," Angela said. "It's cool that you've known that forever."

Then she reasied an eyebrow. "You didn't think Molly had cooties," she teased.

Cameron groaned as that had gotten even more complicated after yesterday. "Please tell me the announcements were joking," he pleaded.

"I don't think they were?" Angela said. "But I was looking up Virginia marriage law. We didn't have licenses, plus even regular we're too young. So I doon't think anyone is really married. Which is good."

"Yeah, because I really have no clue how to explain that one to my folks," he shook his head.

"Yeah, especially because Molly's a freshman. That's a little too Loretta Lynn, right there."

Cameron's eyes widened and looked extra flaily as he said, "Yeah."

Angela's conversation with Parker the day before had mostly been idle speculation, but the flailing confirmed it for her:

"Ohmygod," she said. "You like her for real, don't you?"

"We're just friends! I was seven!" Cameron protested and didn't they already have this conversation a while back?

Angela raised an eyebrow. "Friends. Okay."

Then, absently: "I was two years younger than my first boyfriend and I'm not scarred for life, or anything. I mean, if you're worried about that."

"A year and seven months," Cameron corrected and stuffed his hands in his pockets, it wasn't like he'd been mulling this over or anything.

"So that's basically nothing," Angela said. "Not that it matters if you're just friends. But still."

He scuffed at the floor and seemed very interested in his shoes. "What if hypothetically speaking she kissed me?"
