Shop Class 5/01

"Good morning kids and welcome to your final exam," Mac says sadly. "Before we get started I just wanted to say that you kids were great this semester. You make it easy and enjoyable to be a teacher."

Mac pulls out his remote and fiddles with it a bit and the class room rearranges itself so that there are multiple walk-in safes for everyone to use.

"Your exam today is that you will be tied up and placed in a safe which you will need to break out of. The safes are currently under construction so inside you will find various cleaning solutions and a toolbox. Nothing in the toolbox alone will get you out of the safe, but a combination of tools or chemicals should help you find a way out. If you want you can team up with someone or go it alone. Or even handwave it."

"Finally I'd like to say this is my final class here at Fandom High. I've had a blast teaching everyone and I wish you luck in the years to come."

"Right. Favoritism would be...bad."

She inhaled deeply as she was tied up and tried to keep her wrists and ankles as far apart as possible, without it looking like she was doing so. For her, the hardest part would be getting loose from the chair. Being tied more loosely would give her some wiggle room.

Ah, the things one learned from alien prisons.

It took Sam a few minutes to focus, but once her breathing returned to normal, the ropes loosened slightly, and she began trying to untie the rope at her wrists. It took a while, not to mention some wriggling and contorting, but eventually the knot loosened and the rope fell to the floor.

She immediately bent forward and untied the rope at her ankles, letting that fall as well.

Sam walked over to the basket of chemicals, and looked for ones she could use. She mixed a corrosive compound and poured it onto the lock, being very careful not to spill it on herself. Then, she found a chisel and a hammer while she gave the corrosive time to work. She placed the chisel between the dial of the lock and the door of the vault, right in the spot she'd weakened, then proceeded to hit it with the hammer until the dial fell to the floor with a loud clank.

The door swung open and she walked out.
