A surly teenage boy is behind the counter, attempting to hide his face in a back issue of Rolling Stone.

He is very much hoping today will be the quietest day in library history, but the library is open and full of books anyhow. A new handwritten sign on the library door reads, END OF SEMESTER -- ALL BOOKS DUE MAY 5. NO EXCEPTIONS.

A band Angela has never heard of is being praised as visionaries for fusing hip-hop, jazz, and country rock! Perhaps Angela should buy the CD.

It's closed so the aides can eat their lunch in piece, but like Angela will stick around a second longer than he has to. He's off to bother his ... girlfriend?

He is back and reading a scathing criticism of the war in Iraq that somehow manages to include lyrics from four different bands.

Did the day get longer somehow? He's attempting to actually do some work.

Angela is in music.

He's sure this will end well.

Elizabeth came in with her political campaigning folder and laptop, and grabbed a seat to go through it again. Not that it would make much of a difference, considering it was next...

Angela nodded a greeting to Elizabeth. "Let me know if I can help you with anything."

"Sure," Elizabeth nodded distractedly, and then looked up, confused. "I'm sorry, do I know you?"

Zero came in after Creature and semi-collapsed in her usual seat. She was so ready for this week to be over with. Then she blinked at the boy sitting next to her. "Who the squall're you?"

Angela considered screwing with Elizabeth.

He decided to risk it a little.

"I hope so, you only live with my -" there was a brief struggle for the right word - "girlfriend."

Angela was still a little afraid of the mallet, so Zero got a straight answer. "Angela," he said mournfully.

Elizabeth's face was a mixture of shock and confusion. "Janet's my girlfriend!" she exclaimed.

"Oh, no. What happened?"

Angela was confused, as she had no idea either Janet or Elizabeth was gay. Interesting...

"We can share?" he suggested.

Elizabeth shook her head. "Nope."

"Marty's theory is that Nadia Santos drugged him and I accidentally got a dose. You know, she has those pills she took for Prom and in London?"

"I just hope that's it. Those wear off."

Guys did not giggle, so Angela totally wasn't giggling by now. "Fine."

"Or I might be dating your other roommate."

Elizabeth was really confused by this point. "But Marty's not a girl. Unless there's something she's not telling us and Angela... Angela?"

Angela nodded. "Yup. Apparently this is me as a guy. It's very confusing."

"Yeah, I would really not want to be a boy. Ever. But especially not permanent-like."

"It's not all that bad so far," Angela protested half-heartedly. "Just ... weird."

"And I can't figure out which bathroom to use."

"What the hell happened?" Elizabeth asked.
