Library, 4/27

A surly teenage boy is behind the counter, attempting to hide his face in a back issue of Rolling Stone.

He is very much hoping today will be the quietest day in library history, but the library is open and full of books anyhow. A new handwritten sign on the library door reads, END OF SEMESTER -- ALL BOOKS DUE MAY 5. NO EXCEPTIONS.

"You need to get it cut, I think. Well, obviously not, if the haircut would translate back to girl-you." Parker shook her head. "And maybe? He does have a lot of natural wave. Kind of terrifying to contemplate."

"Yeah, it's staying where it is for now. It's only one day," Angela said, unhappily brushing a strand back from her eyes. "Maybe I could make one of those dorky little ponytails."

"God, no. Please don't. It'll just look lame." Parker shook her head. "At least Marty's changed too, it would be a helluva lot more awkward if your boy boyfriend was having to cope with you-as-a-guy, I think."

Angela snorted. "That would be when we would really need to test that 'everyone is bisexual' theory," he said.

"Ohhh, yeah." Parker suddenly grinned. "Aren't you glad Rory and Jaye aren't here to demand that you do this tomorrow again, so they can have boykissy?"

[back in a few hours!]

"They can bug Bridge and Xander," Angela said firmly. "Never. Doing. This. Again."

[OOC: *clings*]

"Fair enough." Parker still looked cheerful. "Not like I care who boy-Marty kisses, so whatever. Although I find girl-Marty an oddly amusing and easier-to-deal-with contrast. I'm more alpha than she is when we're the same gender, I think."

"Huh," Angela said, blinking. "I can believe that."

"Hey, to completely change the subject? I'm supposed to fight Cam Mitchell after school. How can I, y'know, not get killed?"

Parker stared, then facepalmed. "Have you ever in a fistfight in your life? Ever?"

Angela thought for a minute.

A long minute.

"My sister and I used to slap at each other and stuff, sometimes, when we were really little," he said. "Does that count?"

"... you are gonna die." Parker sighed in despair. "Okay. Uh. Don't put your thumb inside your fist. Make sure the rules of the fight say no blows below the waist, because Cam's fast and you really, really don't want to find out what that'll feel like when you're a guy. And worst case scenario, kiss him. It works for me." She gave Angela a small glare. "Or you can always back out? Why are you guys even fighting, again?"

"Thank you for your confidence, Maureen." Angela said. "Okay. Thumbs inside fists, no kicking, kiss him if things go bad. Which would probably really freak him out right now."

He flailed a little at Parker's next question. "I don't know! He said something dumb and I realized I could kick his ass, in theory, so I told him that, and it just degenerated. Testosterone is nasty."

"You've got the equipment to theoretically kick his ass, sure. Theoretically, he should be able to beat me up-- but I've been in training for six years, and Cam hasn't won against me yet." Parker stuck out a tongue at the Maureen crack, then sighed, studying Angela. "You have the reach on him. And height. Use 'em. Go for the head shots, stay out of his range if you can. You might get in a lucky shot. You're *still* probably going to get damaged, if you don't know when to quit, and that's the first second it starts hurting, okay?"

"See, I knew this about testosterone, but I had no idea it was such a fast-acting poison. Jeez."

Angela shrugged. "I had no idea either," he said. "And, okay. I think I can do all that."

He looked confused. "Wait, are head shots bad or good?"

"If you're wearing the helmets and padding, they're allowed. If you're not, don't-- you could do real damage, and I don't think you want that any more than you want to get hurt." Parker grimaced. "I still think the surprise kiss is a better plan, though."

"It may be the only way I win," Angela said. "Thanks. I trust him not to kill me, anyhow."

"There is that. Cam's chivalrous." Parker grinned. "Mess with his head as much as you can. You never know, it could work."

"Yay for southern gentlemen," Angela said. "I'll try to mess with his head, if I can remember to talk."
