The park had a new addition to it in honor of the World Cup.

Or Anakin had just gotten this and it was a complete coincidence. One of those things!

World Cup matches weren't generally played on what was a field-sized Slip-and-Slide with just enough moisture to make everyone fall straight onto their butts either...

"Today we play soccer-football!" Anakin announced grandly through his megaphone. "Listen for your names!"

Don't mind Eleanor really hoping that no one noticed the small whimper that escaped her thanks to being in earshot of anyone talking about eating themselves and being like meat.

But since that person was Raiden, she just sort of told herself to close her eyes and think about pizza instead.

The results of this would be...very mixed.

Thinking those sorts of thoughts in the general vicinity of the bearer of Gluttony would get you a very large Nephilim in a meat shirt trying to stand out of your direct line of sight so as not to provide additional temptation while offering you a bag of Cheetos and suggesting, "Want one?"

It wasn't pectoral but it was delicious.

Eleanor was trying not to! Really, she was! But all her self-training in holding back her all-consuming tendencies had never quite been tested to this degree before! She never exactly thought she'd ever be faced one day with a bunch of people dressed literally as meat!

She did risk cracking open one eye, though, to look over and see what was being offered.

"....what is it?"

Sure, Cheetos had been around during Eleanor's time, but her was not a life filled with a lot of convenience snack foods.

See, that was why Raiden just ate stuff all of the time. It was a way easier coping strategy than trying to hold back Gluttony, which was never gonna work anyway.

He shook the bag at her. "Cheetos." Did they not have Cheetos where she was from? "Crunchy corn puffs with fake cheese powder." So about the farthest thing possible from meat, but, "They're tasty."

...it definitely would be more effective than Eleanor's tendency to just try and surpress it until she just snapped and ate a kid or pushing a girl she was in love with down a flight of stairs when pouncing her...

"Fake cheese powder?" she asked, a little skeptically, but it was working well enough for a distraction, as she opened her other eye now, too, and turned to look at the bag and then at Raiden skeptically.

Note that her hand was still going toward the bag anyway, though, because now she had to try it.

Raiden was sort of inching the bag toward her hand, because she totally had to try them. "Fair warning, you can't stop at just one." Even normal people had this problem, but hey, going ham on Cheetos, pushing someone down the stairs, there was no contest here.

In Eleanor's defense, Lucy was sort of being a total jerk.

She gave Raiden a sort of uncertain smile as she pulled out one of the puffs. "Fair warning," she said, "I'll probably use that as permission to have more than one."

And with that, she popped it into her mouth, chewing on it with a squint of her eyes as she thoughtfully considered what she did think of it.

Oh, well. Totally different story then. "It totally was meant that way!" Raiden assured her. "I would never make someone only have one of anything. That's just mean." Gluttony plus the "feed people" gene was an interesting combination.

"See? Pretty good, right?"

"Actually?" Eleanor admitted, sounding a little surprised herself as her hand ducked into the bag again, this time maybe taking liberties by grabbing a handful. "Yeah, they are."

She was going to have a small, minor freakout in just a little bit when she saw the cheese dust on her fingers and started to wonder if she was bleeding somewhere before realizing what it was, but she hadn't gotten there quite yet.

For now, she just sort of smiled at Raiden and nods. "Thank you," she said. "For sharing them with me."

It was actually helping a lot, but it really shouldn't surprise her. She'd noticed a few times in class when he'd sort of subtly seemed to nudge more food her way, like maybe he sort of understood...and she'd never really had much of that in her life.
