Why did the entire island smell a bit like chocolate pudding? It was probably nothing, right?

"Welcome to our team-building exercise today!" Anakin yelled through his megaphone. "It's based on a series of obstacle courses called a Tough Mudder, but mud is too easy! Since everyone enjoyed this so much last year--" debatable, "--we are doing it again!"

...that would explain the pudding smell.

"Working in teams of four, you will race around the island, conquering each obstacle! McGarrett, stop looking so excited about this. Listen for your names! NO POWERS."

It's a town full of heroes! Hero carries are fun! Hero carries up and down stairs on your way to the Preserve with shoes caked in chocolate pudding are decidedly less fun.

Summer took a moment to consider who she had to carry across, all that working out she'd been doing (don't know if you'd heard about that yet!), and nodded.

"Okay, this is going to be a cakewalk."

"Technically," said Graham, grinning a little as he swung a finger jauntily toward Summer, "it's a puddingwalk. Although if there is cake involved, I'm all for it."

And then he crouched a little, hands held up, looking at Summer like he was ready to pounce on her back the moment she turned around. "Ready when you are, O Carrier my carrier!"

Stark was eyeing Rosa nervously. Very nervously.

And Rosa was eyeing Stark like the awesome shirt so wasn't even going to come close to making up for this.

"I swear to god," she said, as she walked up to Stark and got ready to get on his back, "if you even think of dropping me..."

"I won't drop you," Stark said quickly.

And he wouldn't. He was absolutely going to stumble and regret some life choices but he would not drop her. He knew better than to risk his life like that.

"Well, this one could have worked out better," Vi said, looking at Libby. "Think they'll notice if we swap?"

Honestly, Libby was just relieved to be paired up with Vi for this one.

"Hey, now," she said, with a grin, "I'm a lot stronger than look!"

And she actually considered maybe trying, for a moment, but she took one look at the pudding and then another look at Vi.

"...but, no," she said, quickly, more quietly, "I don't think they will, and even if they do, it would be worth it to try."

"Honestly, I think Anakin cares more about us ending up filthy than the actual rules," Vi said, turning around. "Hop on then."

"Don't you you look light," Isabela said, blissfully unaware of what was in store at the last obstacle.

"Meep mee mee!" Beaker said optimistically.

"Right we can do this" Connor said, looking over at Guillermo and trying really hard to not think about the last time he had to carry someone somewhere like this.

Guillermo was looking just a tad apologetically over at Connor since he knew he wasn’t exactly the lightest person around, he nodded, “so uh …how do you want to try and do this?”

He was trying really hard to not think about the fact that his teacher was also going to be carrying him.

"Well... maybe..." Connor thought for a moment and scratched the back of his head. There was no easy awkward-free way of doing this. Which... really was probably the whole point of all this anyway, right? "Maybe just try piggy-back an see how far we get?"

"Ready?" Steve said, grinning at Beta. "This'll be easy."

"Whenever you are," Beta replied. It was probably going to be like carrying a piece of tissue paper.

"A couple of teams are already ahead of us, but I bet we can make up the time," Steve said.

Yeah, Steph had no idea if all those practice sessions with Vi teaching her to throw a decent punch we're going to translate to any kind of useful skill here. Probably not, but it was time to find out.

"We can totally do this," she declared.

At least it wasn't like she had to haul McGarrett around.

Eleanor was shaking her head a little and looking at Steph somewhat apologetically, even if this was something that they all clearly needed to put up with.

"I'm sorry," she offered. "At least I'm not very heavy?"

"It'll be fine," Steph said with a bit more confidence than she actually felt, which would turn out to be a touch prophetic in the end. "I used to lug my own drums around every night, we can do this."

"Okay," Gray said to Steve. "Hop on."

...what?

"You sure?" Steve checked, tilting his head.

Cutter was really starting to regret that he chose today to stop by the park and looked uncertainly up at Raider, “uh no,” he admitted awkwardly , “I’m afraid I don’t,”

"Oh dear," Belle said. "Can we switch?"

Belle was tiny! And Amaya had those arms!
