Shop Class: 4/26

Mac must have been by J,GOB's because there is coffee and muffins galore.

"Morning Class, Today I would like you to design and build a habitat for our favorite holographic dinosaur. Make sure that that the habitat will have the following things:

1. Play Area
2. Sleep Area
3. ~~Bologna~~ Feeding Station"

Xander was not hiding under a paper bag today, so it was completely possible to see the giant grin at the coffee and pastries yay. Or maybe it was there even before he noticed them.

A dinosaur-sized blueberry muffin in hand -- muffin the size of a dinosaur, that is, though he did grab a wee one for Denver too -- and a coffee cup in the crook of his arm, Xander sat down near the baby hologram. He tilted his head, set the smaller muffin on the floor for Denver if he wanted it, and started trying to figure out if the sea-caves around Sunnydale would make a good play area for a tiny dinosaur. Last he'd heard, the giant snake liked them, after all.

Nadia totally wasn't trying to peer over Xander's shoulder and get ideas from him. She was just stretching out her neck.

Must have slept funny.

"Free muffins were well-timed," Xander said casually, totally not shifting so that she could, if she liked, get a better look at his plans, since he was all about the sharing. "Might grab a few to take with me to the rest of my classes. Just for self-defense from the butterflies, and not remotely because muffins taste good when they're buttery."

He...might have grinned and wiggled the fingers on one hand.

Bridge happened to be wandering by the Shop in time to hear the tail end of Xander's statement. He pokes his head into the room.

"Buttery?" Bridge echoes, with, yes, accompanying fingerwiggle.

Mac looks up from whatever it is he's doing and waves. "Bridge! Come on in!"

Bridge waves back at Mac as he enters the classroom. "So... what're we up to today?" he asks. 'Cause if he's in the Shop, he might as well do the assignment.

"We're building a habitat for our class mascot, Denver," Mac replied. "Care to join us?"

Something occurs to Nadia. "Hey, Mac, wouldn't it make more sense, since Denver is a holographic dinosaur, to design a habitat and create them holographically?"

Not that she knows how to do that, but that is what class is for, isn't it?

She waves hi to Bridge while she's talking.

"This is shop class, not holographic class. Are you trying to dodge doing work Santos?"

"Sure!" Bridge grins. "I've missed this class. I totally should've done this whole dropping by thing earlier."

Sam waved from where she was trying to decide on what kind of habitat to build. "Hey, Bridge."

Xander turns and...well, he was already grinning, so pretty much that just doesn't change. Except for maybe where he hides the fingers he just wiggled behind his back.

"Apparently there's butteryflies loose on campus today. Baked-goods advisory in effect. Want a muffin?" Xander jumps up and grabs a blueberry one from Mac's lab bench, tossing it in Bridge's direction.

Nadia flicked a glance between Xander and Bridge, and, still grinning, backed off a bit to work on her own project.

As much as she bemoaned the loss of another male of the school to the wonders of boykissy . . . these two were too cute for words.

Bridge grins back and catches the muffin as he enters the classroom. "Thanks, dude!"

Xander points to the dinosaur. "Bridge, Denver. Denver, Bridge."

Denver sniffed Bridge, then went back to getting muffin crumbs all over Xander's project.

In which case, Nadia would definitely have grinned and fingerwiggled back, though she might not have gotten that reference, since usually she and Bridge talked about aura things, not buttery things.

"We'll have to invite the butterflies to our next tea party."

"They'd be useful at a ~~tea party~~ free cookies, yeah."

"What? No paper bag today Harris?"

"The kingdom of sitting quietly and staying the hell out of people's way is kinda small and boring, and as the only citizen I ended up paying all the taxes, which sucked," Xander answered with a grin. "Plus the bag gets hot."

"But you paid taxes to yourself, so really you weren't out any money were you?"

"Are you kidding? With the country's annual per capita Twinkie consumption?"

Mac shook his head in amusement. If there were ever a candidate for diabetes...

"That high huh? I'll have to look that up in the world's almanac."

Denver wandered over to investigate the habitat and was promptly distracted by the wee muffin.

He began munching, but he wasn't very neat about it.

Xander made note that his habitat needed to include a crumb-collection system.

Also, he introduced Denver to Bridge.
