Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday [all day]

Anakin was in front of a large tic-tac-toe board today, and there were stations throughout the park as well, so that was probably a good sign, right?

...was anything on Wednesdays ever a good sign?

"Today, we will have four teams of five and you will compete against each other in an epic tic-tac-toe battle!" Anakin announced grandly. "But in order to receive an X or an O, you must complete a task! The first team to either three in a row or four corners will win."

You pick the center box! Your task is to pull Sidon across the pond using a rope while Sidon sits on an inflatable beaver.

"My, but what a truly impressively large beaver!" Sidon remarked.

It would have had to be, after all, to handle a Zora of his massive size!

But he pumped his fist and dove in eagerly, careful to not let his claws pierce the inflatable as he settled in and called out encouragingly, "Let us go, team! Together, even pulling me across should be a breeze! You can do it! I believe in you!"

"Meep meep meep meep," Beaker said dubiously.

Steph took a few moments to snicker before she grabbed onto the rope. "Hey, at least it's way less gross this week?"

"So far," Steve said, grinning. "Don't give him ideas."

He, at least, would have no problem dragging Sidon across the pond.

You pick the middle left box! There is a banana waaaaaaaaaaaaay high in a tree and no available ladder. Boc and Stark must work together to retrieve it.

"Are you good at climbing, Boc?" Stark asked, looking up. "I hope you are..."

Boc was still pulling a little uncomfortably at his shirt and thinking that this was why he shouldn't leave his shop, not ever, but, knowing people were now depending on him? He blinked at Stark for a moment and then at the tree.

"I suppose I'll have to be," he said. "Might not be an issue. I've certainly been a tree enough that you'd think I should have picked up something from the experience..."

Looking up at the tree, however, he did not appear very confident, but he hurried over to the tree, and began to pat the trunk a little, trying to feel out some good hand holds. But his claws should help...

"You don't have to do it," Stark said. "I can try, or we could both tell Anakin to get frelled."

Right. Like that would happen.

"But you don't have to do any of it if you don't want to."

Upper right hand corner! You must all go sit in the corner of the park and think about what you did for five solid minutes.

...Anakin had started running out of tasks, okay.

Beaker sat down, meeping nervously. This seemed too easy. When would something fall on them?

Well, it just so happened that Steph had a game session to run tonight, so... she'd be spending the next five minutes thinking about how to incorporate some kind of mini-game kind of like this one.

Team O takes the bottom left box to stop Team X from winning! Anakin hands Lana giant foam hands and puts her on one side of the pond. Arthur stands on the other. Lana, you must get Arthur to guess the word "newlywed" through charades.

This'll be good.

Lana gave Anakin a deadpan look and sighed.

Right. At least she knew what Earth customs for marriage were. There were rings, right?

She tried miming putting a ring on one finger of one foam hand with the other foam hand.

Which...might end up looking more like a different newlywed activity, but honestly she didn't care.

Arthur, she's waving the hands around. Or...waving one around the other? Sliding them?

"What's that supposed to mean? A slide? A...I don't even know."

Well, it's not like I have much frame of reference!

"Look, I sucked at charades when I could actually see them! This is charades by way of telephone."

"...Maybe handwashing?"

This could be a while.

Team X goes for the upper left box this time! Steve R and Eleanor must make a bed while holding hands.

Steve smiled encouragingly at Eleanor. "Well, we could've had to do charades?"

"I am probably better at this than that" Eleanor admitted, with a faintly apologetic smile back. "My last school was pretty strict about tidy beds, too, but I've never exactly had to do it while holding hands with someone before."

"Me either," Steve said, "but I was in the Army and they would literally bounce a quarter off of the sheets to make sure they were tight enough. I'm sure we'll figure this out."

Team O counters X's diagonal gambit by taking the bottom right slot. Steve M. must write down as many obscure animals as he can in fifteen seconds!

...and then mime them for the group to figure out.

Well, there's good news and bad news. The good news was Steve could only think of three animals in 15 seconds.

The bad news was he was now trying to mime "hissing cockroach", if anyone could figure that one out.

"...A colicoid?"

She was pretty sure it wasn't, but that was what it looked like, okay?

"A what?"

Very mime-y, Steve. Truly.
