"Hello, students! Remember, next Tuesday is your final. Since it's been such a persistent metaphor this semester, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a question about the Tricycle of Justice."

"Thursday will be a review day. Bring any question you have about Justice and I'll answer it! But for today, you get off easy. Today we'll be watching one last episode off Crime & Punishment for the semester. This is the controversial episode where a party clown was found dead in the Mayor's kitchen pantry."

"This week's metaphor is the sun, while this week's extra credit is to bring is some snazzy, summery sunglasses."

"Here's hoping," Sam said, munching on popcorn. "The new DA's such a jerk, but at least they got rid of the non-acting blonde ADA."

"ADA Barbie? Yeah. And Prosecutor Guy stayed. Go, Prosecutor Guy! Give that clown a shout-down in the courtroom!" Parker paused. "Although I bet I wouldn't get to do that in real life."

"Yeah, I don't think real courtrooms are big on yelling." She sat up, "Ooh, contempt threats. Those are always fun."

"I love this part." It's entirely possible Parker wants to become a DA because of this show as much as this class.

"Totally true." Parker watched the judge instruct the jury to disregard Prosecutor Guy's yelling, and snorted. "Yeah, like that ever happens. They're never getting what he said about butlering not being a noble profession if the butler uses his powers for evil out of their heads."

"Of course not," Sam replied, "that's why he said it. Sure he got hollered at by the judge, and they're not allowed to read it in the transcript, but they heard it and will remember it while they're deliberating. Trial Tactics 101."

Parker grinned. "A perfectly legal way to cheat. Heh." She glared at the TV. "I am not going to be DA, I'm not going to be DA-- ooo! Surprise witness!"

"State your name for the record," Sam muttered, "Deus. Ex Machina. I'm here to save your case. He should totally be in tights and a cape."

Parker cracked up. "Okay, now I'm picturing Professor Tick on this show."

Sam blinked. Then started laughing, hard. "In my head, he's on the show, he's the Judge, and he's wearing the spandex under the robe."

"What do they wear under their robes, do you think?"

Parker threw popcorn at Carter for that image, then snickered. "Clown suit? Bathing suit? Tango costume? Your guess is as good as mine."
