Parker opened her mouth, then shut it with a click. "Oh. Dear." She frowned, drawing her eyebrows together. "What kind of guy does your grandmother want you to hang out with? Because Dean sounded nice, and if she didn't approve of him, I can't imagine what she's looking for."

Rory shook her head. "But she thinks differently than they do. Call it rebellion. Part of it is leaving all of that behind when she was our age."
