Shop Class: [4/19]

When the students enter the shop class today they'll see that it has been turned into a Moobyland Restaurant. Coffee and Egg McMooby Muffins are available for everyone to partake of.

They'll also see that Mac has returned and is sans crutches and cast and looking mighty chipper.

"Good morning everyone! It's good to be back in Fandom and I hope everyone was good to Carter while I was gone."

"Today you have your choice of assignments. You can:

A. Devise a food container that will keep the hot parts of the McMooby burger hot while keeping the cool parts cool.
B. Devise a French Fry container that will eliminate fries from falling into the main part of the 'Carry out' bag.
C. Create your own Mooby themed fast food item."

Nadia has taken to carrying around her own bottle of hot sauce (as you do), and has liberally dosed a McMooby muffin or two with it.

She is quite happy to see Mac back, but alas, has no ideas yet as to what to do for the project.

Mac watches as Nadia dousing the McMooby muffins with hot sauce. "Now is that for you Santos? Or is that for some victim in class?"

Nadia frowned. "Victim? It's just hot sacue." She took a big bite and smiled, even as her eyes started to water slightly. "I like hot sauce."

"Just making sure you weren't going to try and spike someone else's McMooby muffin," Mac said with a small grin. "That could be an unpleasant surprise."

Nadia shrugged. "I know. Some people are very weird about spicy food." She offered Mac a doctored McMooby muffin. "Want one?"

Sam took a McMooby muffin, and promptly pulled the egg off, then began eating the rest of the muffin as she made a list of ways to torture Kawalsky began designing a French Fry container.

1. Honey and fireants. In his bed.
2. Prank calling him at three a.m.
3. Tell his prom date about the thong. And the drag. And the dance number.

"Hey Carter, thanks for taking care of classes for me while I was gone," Mac said placing a cup of coffee in front of her. "Did anyone cause you any problems while I was gone?"

"You're welcome," she grinned, taking the coffee gratefully. "And no, everyone was great, but I should, er, introduce you to someone."

She walked over and activated the equipment. A baby purple brontosaurus appeared. "Mac, this is Denver. Kawalsky keeps feeding him bologna."

Mac smiled as he kneeled down to take a look at the dinosaur. "Well isn't he a cutie? Where did he come from?"

The dinosaur blinked back as Sam answered, "I created him one day in class when I was feeling silly. Er, long story."

As if on cue, Kawalsky stopped by with a sandwich for Denver. He waited until the little guy had eaten it all up, patted him on the head and then went off to work on his project.

Five McMooby muffins is in no way too many. For a nineteen year old.

Well possibly.

Not that it stops Xander.

Who grins and waves from behind his coffee and second muffin, since he sort of inhaled the first one. "You just wanted to really make sure you got a hearty welcome back, didn't you, Mac? Because this totally wins."

There is a roll of duct tape and a roll of aluminum foil in front of him that, in theory, might be part of the very early draft stages for a 'hot side hot' project.

"Well I've noticed an increase in participation whenever food seems to be involved," Mac said returning the grin. "Unless there happens to be killer robots running around, but I thought I'd keep the class content to a more non-lethal variety."

After polishing off his second muffin, Xander's actually slowed down enough to start working on a container, lining one side of a plain cardboard box with foil, creating a divider down the middle with duct tape, and filling the other side with used styrofoam packing peanuts.

"Admittedly evil robots make a good motivational tool, but yeah, on the whole I prefer free eats."

Ivanova made a face at the fast food, but took one anyways and nibbled at it. Yay, cute teacher was back. Sadly, it appeared that his 'do wasn't. She put the almost untouched muffin down, wiped her fingers on a napkin, and set to designing the fry contraption. And maybe doodling something for the last option as well.

John's not feeling particularly inspired today.

So, he decides to Wolfgang Puck it. He creates a McMooby Twinkie And Nugget meal. All Twinkie, all the time.

Kawalsky grabbed two cardboard boxes. One he cut up so he could get a partition for the other box. One side got the aluminum foil treatment and the other got the styrofoam treatment. In the end, there were two compartments with pockets of foil and styrofoam, plus a cardboard lid lined with the same stuff to put over the top and close the box.

Stark inhaled a McMooby Muffin and took another one with him as he got to work on a french fry container. He wasn't really sure why it mattered if some of the food fell into the bag, since it was still going to be edible in the bag.

He came up with a pocket that would hold the french fry container and catch any wayward fries. It was made of netting and attached to the inside of the bag, so that the fries were kept seperate from the other food but didn't block the rest of the bag.

Mac is making his own McMooby Sandwich with what appears to be a vegetarian bean patty with rice cakes for buns.

I would not recommend tasting it.
