The park today looked like an insane person with a ridiculous love of bunting had been allowed to go absolutely nuts setting up mazes.

(In related news, Beaker had been consulted for ideas.)

There were four main areas of concern: a maze with four wheelie recycling bins set before it; a series of folding tables with a variety of fruit and implements on top of them; two large fences with roughly 300 rubber ducks perched on top of them (and a velvet rope 100 feet away from it); and a final maze of bunting with a chair in the center of it.

In the center of all of this mess was a large shed with a closed door.

Anakin looked extremely pleased with himself as he leaned against the Table o' Terrible T-Shirts.

"Welcome back!" he yelled into his bullhorn. "I am pleased to see such enthusiasm for our weekly community building activities."

Sure, let's go with that interpretation. "Today we have several new obstacles for you to master! The specifics of each shall be made clear-" well. Clear-ish. "--as we move to them. The team with the most number of points wins! Listen for your names:"

Part 4: DELIVER ANAKIN LUNCH

There is one final maze o' bunting (like a circular corn maze with four loops) to get through: this one with a chair at the center. And in that chair sat one Anakin Skywalker.

Near the entrance was a table with a large tray of sandwiches and a glass of milk. He smiled at the final victims team members (Danny, Liz, Irene, and Steve M.). "Starting now, you must hop on one leg. You have to bring me that tray of sandwiches. Every time your foot touches the ground, you must stop and eat one of those sandwiches. Fastest time wins. Your time starts now."

"Are you serious?" Danny asked. Because he was only still here to beat Steve.

"Oh, completely," Anakin said with a grin. "Hop to it."

Was Steve going to take this entirely too seriously?

Yes, yes he was.

He hopped over to the bunting without the tray and stared at it--about knee height, sometimes a bit more--then picked up the tray and started hopping directly to Anakin without going around the maze.

He mentally counted down for Danny's yelling in three, two--

Amazingly -- amazingly -- this was something that was vaguely suited to Irene's skill set!

Or, at least, didn't fly in the face of it as so many shenanigans had before. She had outstanding balance! She had even worn flats, in a stroke of genius.

So while Irene was able to hop over to the tray, and managed to steadfastly stay balanced on one foot the entire way -- well. Speed was not her forte, here, and that was going to be her undoing.

Liz ended up being completely terrible at this as she tried hoping and carrying the tray.

Her foot kept touching the ground so she was eating a lot of sandwiches and taking forever to do so.
