"This weekend is an Earth holiday called Halloween," Anakin said, "so if you've been wondering about the decorations and the skeletons, that's what it's for."

He then gave an explanation about Halloween that was about 60 percent accurate, if you accounted for how he'd graduated from high school with a vampire, had known werewolves, and some of the people he'd taught over the years had been dead.

And that wasn't even bringing in Force ghosts.

"Now that that's more clear--" sort of, "--let's get to crux of the matter, which is throughout the weekend, you may dress up in costumes and receive candy from strangers for free," Anakin said. "At no other time of year is it considered a safe or ethical practice to go up to someone's door and threaten them with mischief in exchange for snacks." He glanced around the room. "Is this a tradition you are familiar with? Is there a holiday in your home dimension that celebrates the veil between the living and the dead and symbolic bribes to keep the malevolent away? Does it work?"
