Kurt is perched on the edge of his desk, filling out a requisition form

"Hello, Professor Wagner," said Janet. She took a very large gulp of her coffee as she waved at him.

"Guten Morgan, Janet," Kurt smiled. "How does this day find you?"

"Exhausted," she said, covering her mouth and yawning widely. "But otherwise good. You?"

"Ja," Kurt waved at the endless stack of papers that were constantly on his desk. "Mentally, I can relate to that."

He regarded her. "You need more coffee?"

Janet grinned. "It's the perils of being in charge," she said. "We try to keep everything organized for you."

"You made some?" she asked hopefully.

Kurt smiled. "Ja, my blood type is 2 sugars and a cream after all." He stood up. "Be right back."

*BAMF!*

The cloud of smoke had barely dispersed when he was back in another cloud of smoke.

*BAMF!*

He proferred a steaming cup for her.

"Here you are, fraulein."

"That's a very useful talent to have," said Janet, accepting the cup with a grin. "Thank you."

"Hey," Elizabeth waved at her friend.

Janet smiled. "Hey, Liz," she said, slightly more awake now that she'd had coffee. "How's it going?"

"Not too bad. How's things with you?" Elizabeth asked, dropping her bag at her feet with a clunk.

"Not much new is going on," said Janet. "Which I think is a good thing. I must've short-circuted my brain with Wormhole X-Treme this weekend, because I haven't been able to concentrate at all this week."

"I want the weekend to come," Elizabeth sighed. "Not that I've got any plans for it, but still."

"Who needs plans?" asked Janet, who also had nothing to do this weekend. "I just don't want to deal with classes."

"Plans are nice sometimes," Elizabeth said, tilting her head thoughtfully. "But no classes are certainly good. Want to get pizza?"

"Pizza is also nice," said Janet. She smiled and leaned on the Collections Desk. "That sounds like a good plan to have. When?"

Elizabeth shrugged. "Hadn't figured that part out. Just remembered you suggesting pizza some time last Friday, and thought I'd bring up the idea again."

"So we have actual plans," said Janet. "Two weekends in a row." She grinned. "I'd better watch out, or I might get a life again. What's that supposed to be like?"

"For me, a life involved fancy dinners, expensive dresses and fundraising," Elizabeth grinned. "At least for a while."

"Sounds like fun," said Janet. "For the first few times. I'm sure I'd have gotten tired of it after a while." Then she shook her head. "I'm lying. Except for the fundraising part. That I'd get tired of right away, I think."

"Depended on the people there mostly," Elizabeth shrugged. "Sometimes I had a great time. Others, I think I spent most of my time in the lady's room hiding from some slimey political aide who would try to convince me that both my professional and personal lives would be so much better if I just slept with him." She rolled her eyes in disgust. "Sometimes I'd tell them that I was dating a lawyer who specialized in sexual harrassment suits."

"That sounds like a smart move," said Janet. "Either hiding out or telling them about your fake boyfriend. Or were you really dating a lawyer?" Janet rolled her eyes. "What is it about men being such sleazes? I've probably run into some comparable jerks."

"I've never dated a lawyer," Elizabeth said. "I told you. I've always had a weakeness for doctors." She grinned impishly.

"I think doctors are great," said Janet. "Though I don't think I could date a medical doctor. Personally, I'd have to strangle one after about a week."
