Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

As the day went on, the humidity didn't get much better, but the fall decorations seemed to be holding out. If some of the apples and pumpkins disappeared... well, the wildlife deserved to have a festive day too, right?

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Dreadful, isn't it? At least this year's fashions run to light-colored and loose." Hannibal shook his head. "It's been a few years for me; not so long for you, then?"

"Couple months," Irene offered in return, shaking her head ruefully. "Made the mistake of taking a trip home and thinking Fandom might stay put in time."

That was on her, really.

"It's very bad at any sort of consistency," Hannibal said, shaking his head. "I've had to remodel portions of my house three times this year so far due to its vagaries.

"Have you caught up on this year's news yet? New York fashion week is in one and a half weeks; you've a little more time before London, Paris, and Milan."

"I've spent the last month catching up on the news, and yes, New York is so soon. Paris has always been my favorite, but I love New York," Irene admitted. "Most of my catching-up has been looking at the seasons I've missed. Old Met Gala photos. And the mess that's become of the royal family." They had really gotten quite interesting in her absence.

"I'm partial to Milan for men's fashion, but Paris is very good for women's," Hannibal agreed. "I try to keep a decent wardrobe around for those particular weekends on the island." He wouldn't want to turn female and only have last year's fashions!

"The royal family have not had a good year," he noted. They weren't really his type of gossip, but it was hard to avoid hearing about it. "It's been intriguing to watch as it occurs, but you do have to wonder why they're handling it so terribly."
