Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

As the day went on, the humidity didn't get much better, but the fall decorations seemed to be holding out. If some of the apples and pumpkins disappeared... well, the wildlife deserved to have a festive day too, right?

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Are you planning on poisoning someone?" That seemed unlikely, but stranger things happened all the time. Still, Stark offered a small smile. "I'd rather you didn't."

"I'm glad I'm fine. We're fine. I just...wasn't sure." That got a much more sincere smile as he sat down.

Even with the crying. Which he would never, ever speak of.

You know, it maybe had been a dream, actually. The crying. Or a hallucination!

"I mean, what if I had a really good reason for poisoning someone?" Faye negotiated, leaning over to press a kiss to his cheek to show how fine they were. See the fineness in action? Behold.

He'd never hallucinated crying women before but it could have happened!

He leaned into that cheek kiss, a little. Even if the fineness was performative. He'd take it.

"I wouldn't want anything to happen to you if you poisoned someone," Stark said.

And, you know, there wasn't anyone here he wanted dead. That was also part of it.

"There might be a better way."

It was performative in the sense that Faye certainly wanted everything to be fine? Sort of a faking-it-until-making-it thing.

"I don't know, what if I wanted to poison a lot of people at once?" Faye suggested. "I wouldn't necessarily kill them. But it would be very efficent."

Not necessarily.

Stark also very much wanted everything to be fine for the both of them. He'd go along with most anything that might get them there faster.

"Are there that many people you want poisoned?" It wasn't just Anakin and Miguel?

"Things could change," Faye said vaguely.

So, no. Mostly Anakin and Miguel. Seivarden could maybe deal with a little light poison, too, but Faye went back and forth on her.

"Will you warn me first, if it comes to that?" Stark asked.

So he'd know not to eat, possibly warn others to do the same, and maybe be prepared if they needed help at the clinic.

He would happily go along with doing something not harmful to Anakin's food though. That could be fun!

"I'll always warn you." Faye would honestly sooner do something to herself than let any harm come to Stark. "Unless you're gonna ruin it by telling someone."

In which case she would at least steer Stark away from anything that was poisoned, while helpfully allowing him to maintain his ignorance.

"I might feel like I had to, if I knew."

So it might be better not to tell him. Or maybe it would be better overall to tell him.

"But I'd still appreciate being warned."

"I don't have any poison plans," Faye noted, like that meant anything anymore now that she was thinking about it. "I bet Anakin would retaliate really bad, though."

Like, really really bad.

"I'm sure he would," Stark said quickly. "Probably better not to give him any more cause to be himself."

Was Anakin responsible for the classes being switched? Who knew. He might be.

"He's already difficult. Though maybe without the paintball he won't be, so much? Or we'll find something else."

Blame him for the classes anyway!

"Prom was before paintball," Faye noted darkly. "Are you stuck teaching again? Nothing seems to have signed me up this time."

Stark blamed Anakin for many things, what was one more?

"Prom was before," Stark agreed. Though if he were being honest with himself he'd allow that they had maybe deserved it. And that the ice water had really been worth it.

"I said I'd teach again. But...it can't be right, the schedule. It's not the right class."

"Why, what is it?" Faye wondered, her eyes widening in interest.

This sounded kind of good, maybe. What if Stark had to teach something hilarious?

(She would watch her laughter around him, that's what, because she had a stupid soft spot and wouldn't want to hurt his feelings.)

"Superheroing," Stark said, still mystified about that particular choice. This wasn't going to go well. He could feel it.

"...what?" Maybe Faye had heard him wrong. "Superheroing? Like...saving people?"

Look, Stark, she liked you a whole lot, but this was not exactly meshing with your whole...deal.

Stark was a sidekick at best, Faye. Support staff.

"Heroism is overrated," Faye assured him with a pat to his arm. "But huh. What are you gonna do?"

No helpful advice here, no. Could she interest you in some revenge? Perhaps a tantrum?

"I don't know. Someone has to do it, sometimes." Just not Stark.

"Not me. I'm not...I'm not good at it. I'll think of something."

But he could be interested in revenge.

"There should still be a trip involved, at least?" If he made it that far into the term.

"A trip?" Faye, predictably, perked right up. "One where we wouldn't have to share a room with five people. Or sleep in my luggage."

Of course Faye was inviting herself along. Look at how they'd bonded over the last one! What with the sleeping in her luggage and all.

He was going to invite her if she hadn't invited herself. Obviously.

"You had enough bags it was almost like a bed," Stark said. "It was better than the floor. But yes, we wouldn't have to share. Or we shouldn't have to share. Not with anyone else."
