Advanced Criminal Justice, Class 26, Period 1, 04.13.06

The Tick was sitting behind his desk with a smile on his face. Even Lockheed seemed slightly interested in what was going on today. "Hello, students! Sorry I wasn't here on Tuesday. I was fighting that most fearsome of all foes, the Uncommon Cold! Thank you, Rory, for covering for me at the last minute."

"Today, we have a special guest lecturer who is here to tell us about another view of Justice that we've had some exposure to. Please welcome Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi!"

Jaye raises her hand.

"Why are you so hot?" she asks. Because damn.

Anakin choked again.

Then caught Obi-Wan's eye and snickered. This wasn't the first time this question had been asked.

Rory was...kind of interested in hearing the answer to this, yes.

Go, Jaye!

Parker's internal grin ratchets up a notch, and she perches her chin on her hand to listen to this answer with her full attention.

Jedi don't blush. Really. But Obi-Wan is still grateful for his beard. He scratches at it lightly. "Um. Yes, well, why do you think the Jedi took me in? Wouldn't've bothered with me, otherwise." He grins, blue eyes twinkling.

"I think I love you," Jaye decides with a big smile.

Obi-Wan laughs aloud. "I promise not to tell Master Yoda, if you don't."

Jaye ignores that for now, because she doesn't know why she'd say anything to the turtle about this. "You know, I can totally get on board with that. Wanna go to prom?"

And she's lost him there. "I--what?"

Yes, very smooth. It's not entirely his fault since Jedi aren't really supposed to have flirting skills.

"Prom. It's a dance and it's in two weeks and I'm currently single. Wanna come back for it if I smile pretty?"

Jaye is so going to kick herself for this later. But seriously, damn.

"Ah." He hasn't felt this awkward since the eldest daughter of the 3rd royal house on Corellia literally flung herself at him at that banquet. "Well, it's a funny thing, really. In spite of the agility it takes to use a lightsaber - and not cut yourself into little pieces in the process - you'll find that most Jedi are terrible dancers. Shamefully incapable."

He smiled ruefully. "Besides, two weeks will probably see me back out on the Outer Rim, trying not to engage my sense of smell while I negotiate some information out of a Hutt. I think a young man who's actually here will be a far better escort."

[OOC: ...aand I'm spent. Is v. late here. Pick this up tomorrow if you want to continue? *loves your Jaye, whee!*]

"Oh, I don't actually dance," she says. "I snark. So don't worry about that part. Maybe if your plans fall through?" Because after all she's embarrassing herself in front of the whole class including TWO exes and she'll take what she can get.

[My shrine to you should be finished in the next day or two. *g*]

Obi-Wan may not be a very good flirt, but he's nothing if not a gentleman, and smiles kindly. "As long as there's no actual dancing, then I promise you that if my duties don't have me being shot at or bored to tears elsewhere, I'll escort you to your prom."

And he makes a mental note to see Master Yoda as soon as he returns to Coruscant.
