Summer Shenanigans- Wednesday, August 11

Oh hey, Anakin and Beaker weren't here today! Instead there was a short brunette with a megaphone. She didn't need it, she just liked it.

"Welcome to today's Shenanigans. Grandfather's not here. I'm Jaina and I'm going to be your drill instructor today," she announced. "Today you're going to be doing a mud run. You will get dirty, you won't like it, and I won't care."

Jaina hadn't realized it was Truth Day, that was just how she talked to people.

"We have five obstacles for you to get through to make it to the end, where you will win absolutely nothing. Maybe my grudging respect. No teams today, it's every being for themselves. And I don't know hardly anyone's names so whoever I point to has to come down here and participate, and I know who I'm pointing to so don't think you're getting away with anything."

The Crawl

You'll army crawl under ropes through the mud! There are also little speed bumps you'll have to get over, just to make it more difficult.

You know what Harry didn't do a lot of normally? Army crawling. Plus he kept sticking his head up too much to see how far he had to go and knocking his head on ropes.

All in all the entire course was giving Dwight very strong recollections to his days in boot camp so many years go. Crawling through the mud was not that difficult or challenging, especially since there was a distinct lack of a nearly 50 pound pack on his back this time. So for the start of things, Dwight was making pretty good timing through the course.

Annie actually did a good job here -- once she'd adjusted to the idea that, like, this was reality, she wasn't afraid to get her hands (and face, and entire body) dirty in the name of trying to win. And army crawls were something she was relatively used to, even if she was about a decade out of practice.

"Oh, I don't like this at all," Belle protested. "And I don't see the point! We're getting covered in mud for no reason, just for the amusement of a woman I've never even seen before! And there is mud in my mouth!"

This was not going to be Belle's finest shenanigans performance, no.
