Anakin was holding the shenanigans today mostly as a way to conduct a head count on who was still around and comfortable enough to venture outside. The seating and tables had been lashed securely to trees in the park, and the inflatable whack-a-mole games had been bungee corded to each other and then to a tree.

Anakin wasn't losing anyone down a hole during this, thanks.

"Welcome," he said to those who arrived. "Let's work out some stress." He gestured to the inflated games. "We'll be in groups of seven. Six of you are moles--your job is to collect as many balls on the surface of the game as you can. One of you has an inflatable mallet: your job is to smack everyone on the head before they retrieve all the balls. Let's work on those reflexes, everyone."

Oh it was over for all you bitches.

There's nothing quite like a girl with unresolved rage issues who was able to take it out on innocent people with an inflatable bat. Jaye wasn't even athletic. Didn't matter. There was no saving you.

And that would be the bar coming down across the balls to keep them away, with the force of someone who'd been kicked out of field hockey in eighth grade gym class.

Clare couldn't even peek her head out because she was so, so short. So here came a hand out of the hole, scrabbling around for a ball or two.

Summer thought she was being clever/strategic by ducking down a little into her hole until she heard some sort of conversation or exchange or movement between Jaye and some other poor sap and choosing those moments to pop her head out and snag some balls.

Oh but that's when it got most fun, because that's when Jaye launched herself in that direction like some kind of slacker cheetah to do some bopping.

Annie was, like, deeply not in the mood for this today, but she did at least sort of try by staying ducked in her hole as she reached a hand out quickly to bat a ball into her hole.

It also felt sort of weird to be playing in a hole, but she was just, like, repressing that or whatever.

It was nice to get to do something where Sakaki's height would work to her advantage, and her natural athleticism would be helpful, even if there was at least one moment where she was distracted by the cuteness of imagining a gym class back home with this game. Poor Chiyo-chan!! She would be so helpless!

(If she was fully honest, she imagine it would go just about as well for poor Clare!)

But Sakaki was quick, she was sharp, her reflexes were almost preternatual, really, as she popped up enough to grab a few balls and disappear again just as fast as she'd appeared.

Jaye might have her work cut out for her with this one.

Short of anyone throwing a cat down her hole, anyway.
