"Hello everyone!" Anakin boomed through his megaphone. Was it absolutely necessary for him to be so loud so early?

No, but Anakin was mean.

"Today we are playing the very famous--" in camp circles, maybe? "--game called Burst the Balloons! As you can see, Beaker and I have scattered balloons around the park."

Beaker meeped at Anakin.

"--and filled them with a variety of surprises. Oh?" He grinned. "Well done for that initiative, Beaker. The balloons are filled with surprises. Working in teams, you must race to break all of your balloons before the other teams do! Listen for your names!"

And look there's a Barry shaped thing flopping down next to Summer with bags of popcorn.

"To enjoy the show," Barry said handing her a bag. "Because if I don't have to run around out there I can at least laugh at the people who fucking have to."

"Great minds think alike," said Summer, fully aware that she was putting herself on par with a super-genius here, what of it. She took the bag and leaned in to take a kiss, too, once he was settled. "Thanks."

"My fucking pleasure," he said cheerfully and happily returning the kiss. "We taking any bets on which ones are going to fall on their faces?"

"Depends on what we're betting," said Summer, who tilted her head with renewed interest in the makeup of the teams. "And honestly, these look like pretty well-matched teams..."

Barry sat back a bit and considered the options.

"Hmmm. How about if I win you have to pretend to let Jeremy win at Mario Kart," Barry suggested. "And if I lose I have to listen to your dad talk about beekeeping during the next family dinner while you get to ignore him."

Summer smirked around a sip of her soda.

"Aren't those both things we were going to do anyway?"

"Well in your case you'd have to deal with him gloating about that one fucking time he beat you," Barry pointed out. "Which is worse than his tantrum when he loses. And significantly less entertaining. Why? What'd you'd have in mind Ms. Smith?"

"Whatever." Summer blew off the threat of potential Jeremy-gloating easily. "I'll just shut him up with weird Oreo flavors from different dimensions."

But then she leaned in a little, eyes narrowed as she considered the gathering players as their mixed reactions to their team attire commensed with a thoughtful hum. This required some careful, important consideration, an opportunity to not just be thrown away.

"How about..." She ventured, "if the team I pick fails miserably, you have to sing karaoke at my birthday party this weekend, no excuses, and it's a song of my choice.. ANd if the team you pick fails miserably...well.." She nodded her head, "you pick your terms. Do your worst."

"Fine. If we're going to play it that way," Barry said with a smirk. "If I win? Your dad has to come to the party."

And then everyone loses.

Summer's eyes widened at that, because wow...just...

"Jesus," she muttered, "dialing it all the way up to fucking eleven, huh?"

She didn't know if she was more terrified or impressed, or if she should be worried that she was kind of turned on that he'd go that hard.

She suppressed a shudder, though, as she envisioned what exactly was on the line here and leaned in to observe the teams a little closer.

"Fine," she said. "Deal. And my voter's going toward the bug team. Too many newbies, their only strong point, really, is Rey..."

"I'm going with sharks," Barry said, making a calculated choice as Astrid and Rosa were on that team. One of them was a good student in his class and Rosa of course was a badass. "And when I have I ever made a choice that wasn't dialing it to eleven?"
