Did Anakin look weirdly chipper today? It was because he was just so excited about field day! Really! There were a number of stations set up around the park ~~with varying degrees of ridiculousness~~ that would definitely not be funny only for people watching.

Cough. Really.

"We will be in three teams of nine today!" Anakin yelled into the bullhorn, "so come up and get your t-shirts!"

Whether everyone would stay clothed was another question. And no, Anakin had no idea where these clearly-intended-for-various-elementary-schools shirts came from and how they might only fit Beaker.

...they might only fit Beaker.

Beaker had definitely ordered these.

Stark gave her a very confused look. He'd feel bad about not being more appreciative of the view later.

"I... all right."

Faye totally had a response, but instead of wearing her swimsuit, now she was actually a tiny little fairy.

And so whatever it was she tried to say just came out as little tinkling chimes.

That was unexpected!

"I didn't know you could do that."

"It's not, like, a thing I can normally do," Faye said, wincing a little. "I kind of thought it was a one-time thing?"

She looked around, nose still wrinkled. "What the hell is going on?"

"I have no idea," Stark admitted, voice muffled by the cloth covering half his face.

Well, Faye apparently had a mask now? Even if he didn't?

"I like this less than the time I was actually a fairy all weekend."

That was a lie. She had really hated that. But this wasn't great, either.

"I'm not enjoying it much either," Stark said, face totally uncovered once more. He didn't look so great.

Obviously, since he was looking unwell, Faye was going to be protective.

With a gun.

That was normal.

"Think it's Anakin's fault?" IT WAS OBVIOUSLY ANAKIN'S FAULT.

Well, now Stark had his mask on and he had a large gun.

"I don't know that it isn't Anakin's fault," he said, then laughed.

And instead of a gun, Faye had ice cream.

Didn't look all that happy about it, though.

(And later, she would probably be way more interested in that whole Stark-with-a-gun thing.)

"I think we should blame him, anyway," she decided. "The rest of this is him, right?"

Stark was unexpectedly and very unhappily in a new and much more feminine shape.

"I'll blame Anakin whenever possible!"

Well, that was alarming.

"You turned into a girl!"

So obviously that was Anakin's fault, too.

Stark made a terrible face at that.

"I didn't mean to! I never mean to! It just happens."

"That's how it is with me and the fairy thing!" Faye noted.

By yelling. Loudly.

"You don't need to yell," Stark said, adjusting his mask so he'd stop leaking everywhere.

"Sometimes it's the only way to get your point across," Faye said moodily, taking out her gun again for...reasons.

Stark hung his head. "Sorry."

Faye apparently needed a cigarette to calm down after all of this. "Don't be sorry," she said, actually sort of nice about it. "This is all Anakin's fault. He should be sorry."

You know what Faye? Apparently you were getting a hug for that.

Aw, the hug was nice. The weirdness had not changed Faye's annoyingly squishy feelings towards anyone, so she was not only receptive but actually even kind of liked being hugged.

But then her spaceship was there and Faye had to make sure it didn't randomly shoot anyone, oops.

Well, he wouldn't have minded that hug lasting longer but now Stark was giving the ship an appreciative look.

Or maybe he was appreciative of the pilot? Or maybe just of not being shot. Who could say?

The ship disappeared, leaving Faye to pose provocatively with her hands cuffed.

You know, like you do.

"Don't suppose you know how to pick locks?" she purred.

Was Stark angry at the question or at the sight of Faye in handcuffs? Did it matter?

"I can try," he snapped.
