The Danger Shop was set up like a very large childcare center today with The Tick standing in the middle of the room. "Hello, students!" he said when the students entered the shop. "Come over here and sit in a circle!"

He passed around the sign-in sheet, with the following names on it:

Angel
Callisto
Samantha Carter
John Crichton
Alphonse Elric

"Today, you'll be learning about responsibility in one of the most trying ways there is. Today, you'll be watching children! The kids themselves are just Danger Shop holograms, so they can't actually be hurt or anything, but you should still treat them as you would a real child. You're responsible for their fake well-being and you shouldn't expect me to bail you out if you have trouble. Please remember, they outnumber you. The simulation will end at 5:00 PM FHT. Okay, bring on the kids!"

Another list appeared. This list was of the children who would be here today.

[OOC: In the shop is pretty much everything you might need in a typical childcare facility. Toys, books, bits of electronic that could be fashioned into a laser gun laying around in some drawers... The usual. You can leave as early as 5:00 EST, but feel free to play past that if you're having fun.

The activities listed are guidelines the students should work toward. The children... well, they'll do what they'll do. Hopefully it'll all go together smoothly and we won't have someone fingerpainting during naptime. Right. Becuase what we want is for this to be easy. Sure.

That all said, this will be very hands off for me. Jump in, play, and try not to kill each other.

Vendetta frowns at him. "That is the whole point, you idiot!"

And the buggy thing stops, and looks at him, waving one knife as if to say "Um, duh."

Alphonse really had to wonder what the heck kind of background this kid came from. "You can't go around hurting people at your whim. That'll eventually get you in major trouble, and, erm-" he eyed the buggy thing warily. "It's not a nice thing to do!"

The little buggy thing takes a couple steps forward.

"Scream in terror and I'll make him go away," Vendetta agrees. She likes thiis one.

She wanted what? The thing was unnerving, not insanely terrifying!

... Though he really didn't want that buggy thing waving his knives at him, either. So Alphonse produced the best yelp of fear he could do.

Vendetta picks up her fiend and puts him back in his box. For later.

"We'll work on your screaming more later," she says, and wanders off.

Oh thank the heavens. Here's to hoping the rest of the kids weren't that crazy.

Billy bounces up as the girl with the fiends wanders away. He likes her. She reminds him of Mandy.

"Hi! Let's do something. I'm booooooored! Bored! Bored! Bored!"

"Oh! Um, hello." Alphonse was a little startled by the sudden appearance. "You're bored? Well, let's see..." The stuffed animals were slowly becoming less of a good idea. "Is there anything in particular you want to play with?"

"Yeah! Let's go live in a video game!" Billy grabs Alphonse's hand and starts dragging him toward the TV and XBox.

"Sure!" Alphonse followed, sitting down in front of the TV. He'd never actually tried to play video games before, so it seemed like a good idea. "I'll let you pick the game."

Billy picks one where you play a monster destroying a city.

He sits down to play and gets bored before Alphonse has time to draw a deep breath. "This isn't like when Grim lets us play. Let's do something else."

"Huh? But we just started," he turned to Billy with a confused look.

Billy scampers over to the toybox where he was already having so much fun and starts throwing toys out of it.

Alphonse had better watch that flying block headed straight for his face.

Except he didn't notice the flying block headed straight for his face while trying to turn the gaming system off. The moment he turned back around, the wood blocked him right between the eyes.

Needless to say it hurt.

To which Billy was entirely oblivious. "Eye of Vecna? No." An eye flies out of the box. "Necronomicon? I already said I didn't want that." An evil snapping book flies out of the box. "Grim's undershorts? Yeah!"

Billy hops out of the box wearing a pair of boxer shorts printed with skulls and crossbones. "I'm a pirate! Har!"

Alphonse made darn sure to avoid and dodge anymore flying objects, nor was he going to question what some of the objects were. There was just this energetic kid wearing underwear. Were any of these kids normal?

Eh, may as well play along. "You can't be a pirate without a ship or a crew," he suggested playfully.

"Yeah! You're right! You can be first mate because I'm the captain." He hops back into the toybox and emerges wielding an impressively sharp cutlass. "Avast!"

He facepalmed; Did everyone around here have a potentially dangerous item of some sort? "Alright, Captain," Alphonse saluted, deciding to just go along with everything. "Anything I shall do for you?"

"Keel the hauls! Belay the sails! Walk the plank!" Billy ran over, waving his cutlass.

Then Grim's shorts fell down and Billy went sliding, the cutlass sliding out of his hand to skid across the floor to poke Alphonse's toe.

Luckily for him, Alphonse was paying way more attenion this time around and lifted his foot just in time. New mental note to self: How about not letting the kids play with aforementioned dangerous items. It could and most likely would end in misery for yourself. "Er, how about enough pirating for now?" he suggested, carefully picking up the cutlass to place in a much safer place.

"Okay." Billy shimmied out of Grim's shorts and tossed them away - toward Alphonse's face. "Let's do something else. I know! Chemistry!" He ran for the janitorial closet.

Alphonse caught the shorts after they smacked him right in the face.

Oh, chemistry? Definitely something he could do. Though he was awfully curious to know what was about to be pulled out of the closet.

"Hmm... ammonia... bleach... scrubbing cleanser..." Billy started tossing things out of the closet. "Oooh yummy! Mop water!"

A slurping noise comes from the closet.

"Ack-- wait!" he finally realized what was going on in there and quickly went to pull away all the things that were being thrown out by Billy. "Those aren't meant for us to play with!"

Billy has his head stuck in the mop bucket and is thirstily drinking dirty brown water.
