Detention, April 8th, 9:00 AM

The Danger Shop was set up like a very large childcare center today with The Tick standing in the middle of the room. "Hello, students!" he said when the students entered the shop. "Come over here and sit in a circle!"

He passed around the sign-in sheet, with the following names on it:

Angel
Callisto
Samantha Carter
John Crichton
Alphonse Elric

"Today, you'll be learning about responsibility in one of the most trying ways there is. Today, you'll be watching children! The kids themselves are just Danger Shop holograms, so they can't actually be hurt or anything, but you should still treat them as you would a real child. You're responsible for their fake well-being and you shouldn't expect me to bail you out if you have trouble. Please remember, they outnumber you. The simulation will end at 5:00 PM FHT. Okay, bring on the kids!"

Another list appeared. This list was of the children who would be here today.

Billy
Boo
Jamie
Mindy
Ralph
Stewie
Vendetta

[OOC: In the shop is pretty much everything you might need in a typical childcare facility. Toys, books, bits of electronic that could be fashioned into a laser gun laying around in some drawers... The usual. You can leave as early as 5:00 EST, but feel free to play past that if you're having fun.

The activities listed are guidelines the students should work toward. The children... well, they'll do what they'll do. Hopefully it'll all go together smoothly and we won't have someone fingerpainting during naptime. Right. Becuase what we want is for this to be easy. Sure.

That all said, this will be very hands off for me. Jump in, play, and try not to kill each other.

I have to be in the office for a couple hours, so if you need me, ping me via e-mail.]

Angel was remarkably unfazed. He pulled a hankerchef out of his pants pocket and started to try wiping Stewie down. "See, if I wanted to torture somebody I'd go with knives. Electricity's boring."

"Angel? Please don't give him any ideas."

"What?" Angel asked. "These kids gotta learn it from somewhere. You never know what their friends are trying to teach them at school."

"Angel, honey, you don't tell children to torture people with knives," Callisto said. "After all fire's better."

"I wasn't ruling out fire," Angel said. "Though if you're going for an individual I still say sharp things are easier to set up. Not that it's always about ease of set up, but he's little. He's gotta start somewhere."

"Yes, but he's also too young to understand the whole thing with knives is, that to be effective you don't cut too deeply."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hmm, good point," Angel said. "Though on the other hand he'd probably be holding a small knife to begin with, so he couldn't cut too deep anyway."

"Honey, it's not the size of the knife that matters, it's what you do with it."

Angel brightened as he thought of something. "You know what would be great for him?"

Callisto raised an eyebrow. "Baby's First Book of Deliberately Inflicted Boo-Boos?"

"Yes," Angel said, nodding with approval at the idea. "But I was also thinking of those little torches chefs use to make creme brulee. You got your fire, you got your precision, you got your easy to hold handle - what's not to love?"

Callisto thought about it. "Could work. Of course he'd need someone to teach him to use it properly."

"Oh of course," Angel agreed. "Otherwise he'd be getting the whole extremities/torso order mixed up."

"Which as we both know, leads to nothing but tears all round."

"Well then they die too quick and what's the fun of that?"

Stewie nodded. "Yes. Knives. That blasted woman has been impeding my efforts of taking over the world since the day I escaped from her wretched womb." he said, letting Angel clean him off with little resistanc. "But mark my words. One day her uppance will come."

Mindy giggles and points.

"Silly melon head!"

"Melon head?" he said. "I would not be talking. Your hair looks like it was made of whipped cream."

"There, all clean," Angel said, cheerfully. He motioned to the paints. "Mind if I try? I can show you what color to mix for blood that's from tortures you did earlier in the day."

Re: Activity 2: Fingerpainting!

[personal profile] fh_extras 2006-04-08 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Stewie clapped his hands together. "Yes! Show me! And I must say your hair looks fabulous." he says, looking Angel over. After living with Peter all this time he is impressed by any male wearing pants much less someone who bothered to style their hair.

Angel grinned at the hand clapping. He rolled up the sleeves of his hoodie and reached for some brown to mix into the red. "Okay, see, blood starts turning dark after a while but it goes through this really neat kinda rusty stage first. We got any yellow?"

Re: Activity 2: Fingerpainting!

[personal profile] fh_extras 2006-04-08 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Stewie hands Angel the yellow paint. He found this all very interesting. "I say, may I ask how you know about this? Government training?"

Re: Activity 2: Fingerpainting!

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay," Angel held out the yellow paint for Stewie to use. "Mix in about this much - " Angel indicated a small amount with the index and thumb of his free hand "We're going for that rusty orange. Like iron that's been out in the rain too long."

Re: Activity 2: Fingerpainting!

[personal profile] fh_extras 2006-04-08 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
"Blood really looks like this?" he asked. "I've spent so long trying to kill Lois I've forgotten the sheer beauty of torture."

His eyes look hazy, as if he was remembering a nice memory. "Ah, those were good days."

[identity profile] notstakedyet.livejournal.com 2006-04-08 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
It was possible Angel had a slightly nostalgic look as well. "You know actual blood can make some fun pictures too. If you're not going to eat it."

Angel blinked himself out of it.

"Which, uh, is probably why paint's better."
