The Danger Shop was set up like a very large childcare center today with The Tick standing in the middle of the room. "Hello, students!" he said when the students entered the shop. "Come over here and sit in a circle!"

He passed around the sign-in sheet, with the following names on it:

Angel
Callisto
Samantha Carter
John Crichton
Alphonse Elric

"Today, you'll be learning about responsibility in one of the most trying ways there is. Today, you'll be watching children! The kids themselves are just Danger Shop holograms, so they can't actually be hurt or anything, but you should still treat them as you would a real child. You're responsible for their fake well-being and you shouldn't expect me to bail you out if you have trouble. Please remember, they outnumber you. The simulation will end at 5:00 PM FHT. Okay, bring on the kids!"

Another list appeared. This list was of the children who would be here today.

[OOC: In the shop is pretty much everything you might need in a typical childcare facility. Toys, books, bits of electronic that could be fashioned into a laser gun laying around in some drawers... The usual. You can leave as early as 5:00 EST, but feel free to play past that if you're having fun.

The activities listed are guidelines the students should work toward. The children... well, they'll do what they'll do. Hopefully it'll all go together smoothly and we won't have someone fingerpainting during naptime. Right. Becuase what we want is for this to be easy. Sure.

That all said, this will be very hands off for me. Jump in, play, and try not to kill each other.

Mindy blinks back at Callisto.

"Ooooh pretty hair!"

Callisto looked down at Mindy.

"Something you wanted?"

"Hello I love you!" chimed the little girl holding her arms out.

Callisto warily reached out to pat Mindy on the head. "That's nice, dearie."

Mindy squished her face up and giggled at Callisto gave her a pat on the head.

Then she offered her the plastic ring of keys she's been chewing on.

It's only polite.

Callisto looked sideways at the keys. "No, it's alright, you can keep those."

Mindy puts the ring of plastic keys down and toddles over to a toychest.

Hoisting herself up she tumbles in, sending a few stuffed animals and a yo-yo flying.

Callisto wondered if she was maybe supposed to get the child out of the chest.

Then she shrugged and figured that with all the stuffed animals she probably couldn't hurt herself.

Mindy emerges from the box with a red rubber ball with a yellow star on it.

"Ball!" she cheered, "Catch pretty hair head lady!"

And she bounced the ball, which flew through the air at Callisto's head.

Thank the gods for quick reflexes. Callisto caught the ball just before it hit her.

"Catch? I guess I can do catch."

She tossed the ball back towards Mindy.

Mindy squeed as the ball sailed at her. She spread her arms for the ball much as she had for Callisto earlier.

Her arms, and legs, wrapped around the ball, which was about as big as she was. This caused her to fall back into the toybox, sending more stuffed animals (and a few blocks) to be launched into the air.

The top of the ball bobs up into view and launches into the air, flaying wide and landing far from where Callisto is standing.

You couldn't expect a little kid to aim properly. Callisto shrugged and walked over to retrieve the ball.

As Callisto walked away from where she had been standing Mindy finally noticed what was behind her.

An impossibly tall bookshelf filled with tempting delights. At the top of this tower of glittering infantile pleasure was an adorable (if by "adorable" one means "impossibly ugly") Butter Lettuce Baby doll.

"Dooooolly." She cooed softly as she scrambled out of the box and crawled with surprising alacrity over to the bookshelf.

Callisto picked up the ball and started tossing it from hand to hand.

"Dolly." Mindy stated, probably to remind herself what she was after.

She pushed herself up to a standing position, wobbling a bit, she smiled as she got her balance. She reached up for the first shelf and started scrambling up the bookshelf.

Callisto looked up from the ball to see Mindy climbing the bookshelf.

She shrugged and started wandering back towards it.

Wiggling her feet in the air while trying to get leverage, Mindy is already a good five feet up off the ground.

Callisto strolled over and looked up at Mindy. "Looking for anything in particular?"

By the time Callisto finishes strolling over to the bookcase, Mindy has made quite a bit of progress.

"Dolly!" she says as her foot catches on the spines of some large storybooks. This gives her the leverage she needs to get up on the next shelf, but it also sends an avalanche of books tumbling down at anybody standing nearby.

Callisto winced as one of the storybooks bounced off her head.

"Okay that's really not going to do."

She started climbing the bookshelf.

Callisto is much taller, but Mindy has a bit of a head start. She could probably catch up with the toddler in short order though.

Mindy's waggling searching foot finds stability on an enormous snow globe which contains a miniature version of Fandom Island.

As she tries to push herself up to the next shelf the snow globe gets closer and closer to the edge...

Callisto looked up to see how much further she had to climb.

She saw the snowglobe.

She had a very bad feeling about this...

Both of Mindy's feet slipped and slid across the top of the snow globe as she struggled to pull herself up.

"Dolly!" she called out to the object of her desire. The Butter Lettuce Baby, seemingly miles away at the top of the bookshelf, sat placidly and inanimate.

The snow globe, on the other hand, toppled over; thankfully it fell further into the shelf and not over the edge.

Mindy dangled free for a moment and then started to fall.

"Weeeeeeee!"

Knocking her head against the wood of the bookshelf. Callisto reached out her arm to catch Mindy.

Callisto catches the child with ease in her arm.

Mindy giggles as she is caught and gives Callisto that hug she offered earlier.

"Hello Pretty Hair Head Lady!"
