Anakin looked a little like he hadn't slept, but that was not going to stop him from having the last bit of summer fun, darn it!

And judging by all of the stations set up around the park, he might have needed to.

"Today we're having an old fashioned field day...thing," Anakin said. He'd never had a field day, so.

"Listen for your names, get your Fandom High t-shirts--" they were blue with gremlin prints all over them, "--and enjoy the day!"

Danny was tired and only here because Steve was bribing him. Though he'd had to buy the bribe himself using Steve's credit card.

Which were normal things to do with your work partner.

"You made it," Steve said, smiling happily as he ambled over.

"I'm hoping to see you get your ass handed to you by a kid again," Danny admitted with a yawn.

Ugh, of course Steve had to be chipper and make this seem like a better idea than it was.

"While wearing an ugly shirt," Steve said, compartmentalizing like a highly trained operative who was shoving aside allll of the dreams of the night before.

Danny was working under the assumption it was just normal level anxiety causing him to dredge up old memories like a greatest hits record. Because. Well. Anxiety and all that jazz.

"Yeah," he said dryly. "Thanks for that. It's just what I always wanted in my wardrobe."

Now that his third favorite blue shirt was missing.
