Well, Anakin's clothing options had shrunk considerably overnight, which was why he was dressed like a hipster rather than a Jedi.

At least he wasn't boiling in the robe because it was easily 100 degrees outside with humidity to match.

"Today we're combining the fun of a color run with the other fun of a tough mudder," Anakin announced into the megaphone from under his hat.

Your idea of fun might vary considerably!

"Working in teams, you will complete obstacles located around the island, and when you're finished each one, Beaker will dump dye on you."

Beaker, currently an unnatural shade of teal, meeped in what he incorrectly thought was a supportive way.

"First team across the finish line and into the water wins. Listen for your names. There are three teams of five."

Anakin looked momentarily embarrassed. "The t-shirts I had for you seem to have disappeared overnight. Apologies."

Elli swallowed the urge to laugh even as she moved to inch over to the trench, kneel down and offer her hand over to Mae.

"Here," she said, "I'll pull you out. Maybe use a stick next time to check the depth?"

"Thanks," Mae asked. "But what fun would that be?"

Looking before she leaped? What was she, some sort of reasonable person?

Elli did laugh, at that.

"At least try not to swallow mud," she advised.

With a glance back at Tahani, who didn't look like she was planning on moving any time soon, she looked down at Mae.

"Want me to help you get across to the mud hills?" Elli offered. "I could throw you or I could carry you?"

"You could throw me?!"

Mae looked rather excited by that prospect.

"Only if you're okay with it!" Elli said hastily. "And it might be more like 'throw, rescue you from the mud, throw again' than all one throw!"

Because Mae wasn't that big but she was also covered in mud, which was heavy, and thirty feet was thirty feet.

This was a girl who played 'knife fight' for fun.

At least part of this team was going to give getting through this whole mess an honest shot!

"Okay," Elli said, going to pick Mae up if she let her. "You ready?"

The first throw was going to be the easiest since she had the height advantage over the trench and wasn't in mud herself. Elli knew she had to make this count.

"HELL YEAH!" Mae absolutely allowed herself to be picked up. In the name of throwing.

And then she was airborne. And letting out an unholy bellow of glee.
