Well, Anakin's clothing options had shrunk considerably overnight, which was why he was dressed like a hipster rather than a Jedi.

At least he wasn't boiling in the robe because it was easily 100 degrees outside with humidity to match.

"Today we're combining the fun of a color run with the other fun of a tough mudder," Anakin announced into the megaphone from under his hat.

Your idea of fun might vary considerably!

"Working in teams, you will complete obstacles located around the island, and when you're finished each one, Beaker will dump dye on you."

Beaker, currently an unnatural shade of teal, meeped in what he incorrectly thought was a supportive way.

"First team across the finish line and into the water wins. Listen for your names. There are three teams of five."

This 30 foot trek through waist deep mud pits and up-and-over 6 different 8 foot high slippery mud mounds is going to require some serious help from your crew to conquer.

And then Beaker throws powdered dye on you.

What's more fun than climbing through mud? Well, Anakin thinks crawling through mud is just as fun! (Anakin may be wrong.) Now you have a 40 foot low crawl with barbed wire 18 inches above your head. Get low or get your hair stuck!

And then Beaker will throw more dye on you.

This one has a 6 foot wide water obstacle to jump over before you grab the cargo net on the other side and climb up to slide down the pole that's waiting for you at the top of the net.

And then, yes, Beaker hits you with more dye.

And you're done! Just a running race of your entire team onto the beach and into the water to clean off and then change into clean clothes.

So, so messy.

Mae may not acknowledge that she looked like a black cat, but she still looked like a black cat. which meant she was extra baking out here today, and rather thinking of just ditching the shenanigans and throwing herself into the water.

But, you know. The mud looked kinda fun.

She'd been wearing the same clothes all week, but let's be real, she did that fairly regularly anyway. So she hadn't noticed her clothes disappearing, just yet. . . .

"Pigs roll around in mud to cool down," Mae said. "Maybe it'll work for us, too."

Steve was there because he was drawn in by the crowd. At home, that generally meant something was going to get shot at or blown up, so it was probably prudent to get eyes on the situation.

...plus there seemed to be food, and Steve was hungry. He hadn't wanted to eat all of the stuff in Danny's kitchen immediately, after all.

"How'd he get my name?" Steve demanded to no one in particular.

"I am not rolling in mud to cool off!"

Tahani was going to hate every single second of this today.

"NO. Nononono no no, I am not doing this," Tahani declared, trying to find a non-muddy place to sit down and sulk about it.

"Wimp," Mae said, and flung herself into the first trench.

And vanished up to her ears.

She came back up sputtering. "LITTLE HELP HERE?"

This being her first shenanigans, Eleanor wasn't sure what was going on. It looked like a big muddy mess that some poor sucker was supposed to run through.

So even though she looked like a hot mess in gym shorts and a Lonely Gal Margarita t-shirt, she was down with seeing people fall around in the mud.

"...Wait. What?"

She looked over at Cloak-Man who wasn't wearing a cloak. Clearly this was retribution of some sort.

"Oh, shirt. I have to run through that crap? Fork me."

"Assumin' you're the 'New Steve' on the island, your name and arrival are all over radio," Iris said helpfully.

'Helpfully'.

All of her suits were missing.

Luckily, she still had some clothes so Iris was here in a pink crop top and teeny, tiny purple shorts.

Her ridiculously, incredibly long blonde hair was up in a high ponytail.

"Ohhhhh, this looks bad."

"There's a radio station?" Steve replied, ears all but perking up like a dog's.

"This is absolutely doable," Steve said, cracking his knuckles. "We just need to work together to get over the hills. Who else has done something like this before?"

"Yeah," she said easily, smiling. "It's on Black Swan Drive, near the police station and right beside Ching Tai, our Chinese restaurant."

She could warn him about the squirrels and yet...

"Was this even here yesterday?" Eleanor complained as she tried to climb the first hill.

And slid back down again.

"Ugh. It's hot and this is hard and I don't want to do it."

As she walked around wishing it wasn't so hot out, Eleanor finally spotted a familiar face.

"Hey! I know you! You're-"

Probably saying cat-faced girl wasn't the best way to approach this.

"Mae?" ending what was supposed to be a hello but ended up being a question.
