Rory staggered in and opened the library during second period, nursing her second cup of coffee and looking very much the worse for wear.

[Goin' up early like whoa so I can sleep in and not worry about it. Rory'll be available for interaction around 1 EST.]

"I was mean, though."

"Mean how?" Parker knows that their definitions of mean vary wildly. "Did you make him cry?"

"Not that I saw..."

Rory's eyes went very wide and she covered her mouth. "Oh, God, what if I did? What if I made him cry? I am a horrible person."

"No, you're not. If you didn't see it, and you didn't deliberately try to, then no, you are not a horrible person, Rory. Stop it." Parker handed her a napkin to dry any tears on. "You guys -- are having issues. You're both hurt. You can't take sole responsibility."

Rory took the napkin, sniffling a little. "But I was really mean. And he was just...sad."

Parker grimaced. "He'll get over anything you said. And the sad... well, he'll get over that probably when you do. Eventually." She patted Rory's arm. "I get why you'd rather avoid him, though."

"Hurts," Rory said softly. "I'm a big girl, though. Not the first time I've had trouble with something like this."
