So the park wasn't flooded this summer but that wasn't going to stop Anakin from recreating one of his favorite shenanigans from last year--the team balloon toss on rafts.

Because, in case you hadn't figured it out, this was all about Anakin's entertainment.

There were signs directing people to the docks instead of the park today, but there were still the usual snacks and bleachers for attendees to mingle around. There were also big screens set up becuase some of the rafts were far out into the water.

There were four piles of ugly t-shirts, with definitely not matching water wings for those who needed them and/or remembered how very unseaworthy the rafts were last summer.

"Today we are doing a water balloon relay!" Anakin announced through the bullhorn that somehow had never been stolen from him. "A member of each team will be on each raft. In the center of the each raft is a bucket of balloons. The fastest way to win is to catch the balloon from the first raft and transfer it through all six team members without it breaking, but I've met you all. Therefore, if you haven't managed to catch a balloon after three attempts, the next teammate may pull one from the stash in the center of their raft and proceed."

He coughed. "Some of them may not necessarily contain water."

Because he was a bastard like that.

"First team to transfer a balloon successfully through all six teammates wins. Powers are allowed.

So that should make it nicely chaotic.

"Shooting extra balloons at opposing teammembers is encouraged, too."

ANAKIN.

"Listen for your names!"

Grab a snack, have a bad feeling about all of this, etc., etc.

Prompto's bad feeling about all of this would come later, when he realized that not only was Nina not showing up,but also that she wasn't responding to calls or texts, and that even Noctis was texting Prompto because he knew Prompto was on the island and Nina's usual update on the summer nonsense hadn't come in...

But for now? He was bouncing with that excited energy that could only come from being able to make it back for three of these things in a row!

"It's been a while," Sabine greeted him with a little smile.

"Oh, hey!" Prompto, ~~a million years later~~ while a little distracted looking for one particularly curly blonde head amongst the gathered masses, shifted his attention easily to the person who'd greeted him, a bright smile blossoming on his face when he saw who it was. "Sabine! It has! How the heck are ya?"

"Doing okay," she said with a nod. "How about you? That's more interesting."

"I don't know about that," said Prompto, snorting a little as he grinned. "I mean, it's really nice being home and again, but you'd think the training for something called Kingsglaive would be wayyyyyy more interesting than it actually is. It's good, though! I like it. And I've still had enough time to come visit for these things, so there's that! Sounds like it's been a pretty quiet summer so far, though."

He wasn't even living here anymore, and yet he still sounded incredibly relieved about it.

"Yeah... we're probably going to be really in for it in a month or two," Sabine said, unbothered. "Maybe you'll get to catch some of it!"

"Orrrrr," Prompto proposed, as an alterative, "I'll juuuuust miss it. Just missing it is totally fine by me, too. And then you guys'll just have the opportunity to tell me all about it instead."

"Oh sure, leave us to dance the problem away without you," she teased.!

"Okay, so," Prompto lifted a finger as he reconsidered his previous statements, "if it's something involving dancingand the island to get me on board, and I will coming running." He flashed a grin. "Anything else, though? You guys are tough. You can totally handle it!"

There was...a pause.

"Or pizza. If it involves pizza,I think you might need me for that, too."

"So... call you for the parties," she said.

Since the main drive for her competitive spirit was actually gone this week, Amaya was mostly just here for the meats on sticks, knowing full well that she'd probably still get dragged into whatever nonsense was planned for today, and actually looking forward to it a little.

It helped that the squirrels (or, at the very least, Leroy) seemed to have forgiven her for past transgressions after last week.

...for now, anyway.

Shunsui knew he was running a risk by showing up to these things, that he might be called upon to participate, but the ones he'd been involved in this far weren't so bad.

And while the whole 'docks' aspect was a bit worrisome as a potential participant, it had incredible potential for enjoyment as a mere spectator!

Elli laughed as she reached the docks and took a look at the set up for today.

She didn't bother with a snack for now--but after, she figured she'd probably treat herself to something!

If asked, Stark would probably admit to enjoying Wednesdays. The absurdity was comforting, in a way.

He definitely would admit to enjoying the snacks.

Once again, Jaye was there with popcorn and a camera.

She didn't have a lot going on these days, she had to get her fun somewhere.

Jaina just figured she'd visit! She didn't really take the day into account, and even when she realized this was going on there was no way her grandfather would call her name today.

She was just going to be really glad she hadn't brought the kids so she didn't have to find a last minute babysitter while she got gross on a raft.

Alara actually looked forward to Wednesdays, even with the possibility of ending up participating but she was still there and looking around at what was involved this week.
