So the park wasn't flooded this summer but that wasn't going to stop Anakin from recreating one of his favorite shenanigans from last year--the team balloon toss on rafts.

Because, in case you hadn't figured it out, this was all about Anakin's entertainment.

There were signs directing people to the docks instead of the park today, but there were still the usual snacks and bleachers for attendees to mingle around. There were also big screens set up becuase some of the rafts were far out into the water.

There were four piles of ugly t-shirts, with definitely not matching water wings for those who needed them and/or remembered how very unseaworthy the rafts were last summer.

"Today we are doing a water balloon relay!" Anakin announced through the bullhorn that somehow had never been stolen from him. "A member of each team will be on each raft. In the center of the each raft is a bucket of balloons. The fastest way to win is to catch the balloon from the first raft and transfer it through all six team members without it breaking, but I've met you all. Therefore, if you haven't managed to catch a balloon after three attempts, the next teammate may pull one from the stash in the center of their raft and proceed."

He coughed. "Some of them may not necessarily contain water."

Because he was a bastard like that.

"First team to transfer a balloon successfully through all six teammates wins. Powers are allowed.

So that should make it nicely chaotic.

"Shooting extra balloons at opposing teammembers is encouraged, too."

ANAKIN.

Raft 1's balloons are all full of water! You need to throw (or kick or levitate or whatever) your balloon to your teammate while you're dodging (and potentially they're dodging) whatever the other raft people are throwing at you. If they haven't caught your balloon after the third try, they can grab a balloon from their stash and move on.

Raft 2's balloons are half full of water and half full of red Kool-Aid. Eww. Raft 3's balloons are half full of red Kool-Aid and half full of chocolate pudding. The chocolate pudding ones are pretty fun to throw, tbh. You need to throw (or kick or levitate or whatever) your balloon to your teammate while you're dodging (and potentially they're dodging) whatever the other raft people are throwing at you. If they haven't caught your balloon after the third try, they can grab a balloon from their stash and move on.

Raft 4's balloons are full of water, but the raft is listing to the left, so everyone has to be very careful about where they're standing to throw/kick/levitate to the next raft.

Raft 5's entire stock of balloons is filled with green slime. So are Raft 6's, but that was because Anakin wanted them to throw them at each other (it might've taken awhile to get to Raft 6. He didn't want them to feel left out.)

Catch that balloon! Be the winner! Fame, glory, hot showers for all!

Who are presumably pretty gloopy at this point.

Who is not gloopy. At least at the beginning of the day.

Thank you, internet, for staying stable enough to post this.

Prompto's bad feeling about all of this would come later, when he realized that not only was Nina not showing up,but also that she wasn't responding to calls or texts, and that even Noctis was texting Prompto because he knew Prompto was on the island and Nina's usual update on the summer nonsense hadn't come in...

But for now? He was bouncing with that excited energy that could only come from being able to make it back for three of these things in a row!

Since the main drive for her competitive spirit was actually gone this week, Amaya was mostly just here for the meats on sticks, knowing full well that she'd probably still get dragged into whatever nonsense was planned for today, and actually looking forward to it a little.

It helped that the squirrels (or, at the very least, Leroy) seemed to have forgiven her for past transgressions after last week.

...for now, anyway.

"Oh for fucksake."

Of course Duke was out on the last raft out here. And of course he was supposed to catch something thrown by the weird squeaky kid.

He was not at all thinking about what he and the weird squeaky kid had gotten up to at this last week. At least the odds of getting bit again seemed pretty slim?

Mae was into this! she was not going to be great at it, but damn if she wasn't going to have a total blast!

Mae was going to keep being kind of terrible at this. Maybe Shuri could make up for it?

"Elli!" Astrid called out eagerly from her raft, after a moment of recentering herself as it listed slightly, but she was trying not to get distracted. She didn't want to lose the lead they'd gained in the last round. "I'm ready!"

At least she hoped she was. Her hands, out before her in anticipation of a balloon and mildly fearful of what might be inside (but also curious and intrigued), certainly seemed to say she was, anyway!

Shunsui knew he was running a risk by showing up to these things, that he might be called upon to participate, but the ones he'd been involved in this far weren't so bad.

And while the whole 'docks' aspect was a bit worrisome as a potential participant, it had incredible potential for enjoyment as a mere spectator!

Balancing on her raft wasn't so much of a concern for Freya as she waited for her leg of the race; actually catching the balloons without actually popping them with her claws, however, was.

Yes, these t-shirts were a very good thing right now, she was thinking...

Well, her team was able to gain a little bit of some footing once Freya managed to not pop all the balloons, and Summer wanted to keep that momentum going, so she wasted absolutely no time switching to her balloons and sending one lobbing toward Alluka, calling her name out in case the girl wasn't paying attention for some reason and getting ready to catch one back.

Elli laughed as she reached the docks and took a look at the set up for today.

She didn't bother with a snack for now--but after, she figured she'd probably treat herself to something!

"You ready?" Steve yelled to Rey, holding up a blue balloon.

Shuri was only going to be able to do so much--she was laughing too hard at the screeching from Tahani after she'd gotten hit (by Shuri...shh) with a balloon full of chocolate pudding to be paying all of her attention at Mae.

"WHY AM I COVERED IN PUDDING?!" Tahani sceamed, stomping her foot and almost tipping off of the raft.

Behind her ~~super modded mwahaha~~ Shuri giggled.

"Hello! Strange person with the hair!" Tahani yelled, waving at Beaker and trying to get her pudding-drenched hair out of her eyes. "Pay attention!"

This was going to end in disaster.

That was fine, Mae didn't actually feel the need to wait for her attention.

"INCOMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!" she bellowed, and launched a red kool-aid balloon at Shuri.
