BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge- Saturday morning
It was't so much that Alexis wanted to go back to school, it was just that her options to bounce around a bit had dried up for the moment, and she should probably at least check this place out? She hadn't gotten to see much of it aside from the volcano and all, and very little of the area outside, so why not hang out for a while?
She'd amassed a lot of bags around her: on the floor, the seats next to her. A throne of luggage, of sorts. She was already a little bored waiting, wondering who else would show up, and how much glitter had gone into the giant "FANDOM HIGH" sign that was hanging.
...and how that glitter had already gotten on her designer luggage, which she was now trying to pick off with an, "Ew."
[OCD up. Go! Go! Go!]

Re: Wait for the shuttle
Re: Wait for the shuttle
Julius was at an absolute loss for words. How did someone not know the DFZ? The night Algonquin raised the Great Lakes and flooded Detroit and all the surrounding cities was probably the most historically important moment in the last fifty years. Only the comet that had brought magic back could fight it for most influential moment of the century.
He pulled out his phone, pulling the up the AR features until he could find the Wikipedia app, just to make sure he wasn't crazy.
"Uhhh...where are you from?" he asked. Maybe...maybe it just hadn't gotten as much press in foreign countries?
..And hadn't in the past fifty-plus years, even with Algonquin's relaxed views on immigration...

Julius however, gave Alexis a weak smile and a sort of laugh. "Ah...yeah. Maybe. New York is pretty busy, I hear..."

Re: Wait for the shuttle
He trailed off as he remembered the post-script from his brother's message. "Excuse me a moment?" he said, not wanting to be rude. "I need to check something."
He pulled up the letter again, the 3D menu flashing in the air around his face via the phone's AR-interface system and reread it.
I almost forgot to give you your advice for the day. An education is invaluable. If you see the chance for a learning opportunity, take it!
Education. A school. Bob. "I. Uh. Think I might be," he said.
Re: Wait for the shuttle
"Uhhhh what's that."

Alexis was going to have her ancient phone replaced by Sunday. But for now, it was not that.
Re: Wait for the shuttle
Even his old phone had AR capabilities, but they'd been slow enough that he'd generally bypassed them because they were battery drains and sometimes ended up bricking his phone.
"It's just a standard phone. Um. Isn't it?"
Now he was having a complex about his telephone.
Re: Wait for the shuttle
"I wouldn't call this one standard but it's popular," said Alexis, who was wrong for this time, anyway.
Re: Wait for the shuttle
"Err, is that what they called a rotary phone?" he asked. "Is this a fashion thing?"
Where they made modern phones look like ancient ones, just for the cache?

Re: Wait for the shuttle
It had buttons. That were built in.

Re: Wait for the shuttle
Just keep digging that hole, Julius.
Re: Wait for the shuttle
Wasn't luggage just luggage?
Re: Wait for the shuttle
Understatement.

Though with less than a hundred bucks in his account, it was going to take awhile to replace everything. His gaming rig alone had cost well over ten times that.
