Anakin had learned from leaving just a note for the students. Today, he waited until everyone was seated before his voice boomed ominously through the classroom. "Under your desk, one of you will find an X. The rest of you have the goal of discovering who that person is and either protecting them or turning them over to authorities when they arrive in 30 minutes."

There was a long pause. "Student X, you know what you did."

Nothing, but that was part of the point.

"Because they think we're all evil, and we think they shouldn't have tried genocide with us as the objects," Lana said wryly.

"Can't say as I believe any group of people are all evil," Nell said. "And no matter how, genocide is always wrong."

"I won't argue with you on this one, anyway," Lana said. "It's certainly no basis for a good relationship, if nothing else."

"So, you and the professor?" Nell was curious. "Why are you in a class of his?"

Lana shrugged. "Curiosity, mostly. I like to try to understand other people. And it never hurts to know your enemies, just in case."
