Ethics, Wednesday, September 11, 2019 [1st period]

Anakin was at the front of the room with a huge, empty bowl in front of him. There were equally empty bowls in front of all of the students.

"Because I'm not all terrible," Anakin began with a tiny smile, "I've brought chocolate pudding for everyone. My bowl, of course, is too big for me to finish, so if you need more after you're done with the portion in front of you, feel free to come up and get some more. If you are lactose intolerant or allergic to chocolate, I have other options, too."

Of nothing. Because there was literally nothing in the bowls, kids. "Feel free to share with each other, too!"

Was there an ethical lesson here today? Of course. Anakin was just...testing to see how you all reacted.

There...was nothing in any of their bowls. Not even invisible pudding, unless it was also invisible to the Force.

"Is your pudding somewhere else?" she asked.

Lana nodded. "So, are we supposed to say we can't see anything there, and show that we'll question authority, or go along with you and show that we have the ability to get along when things make no sense?"

"You clearly have," Lana said. "I'm just trying to determine what the lesson itself is meant to be. I don't imagine it's 'people in authority are occasionally lunatics', although that in itself might be helpful."

Especially in the Empire.

"All right." Lana nodded again. She had already learned several lessons, so she'd just sit back and semi-meditate and wait for any others that might come up.
