Summer Shenanigans, Wednesday, July 17, 2019

It was a beautiful, if hot and sticky (not dirty) (at all.) (for any of you.) (*rimshot*) day today, and so Anakin was making everyone meet in the park with a set up that would be familiar to those who'd been around for the shenanigans last year.

It's trebuchet building time, and this year the target was the park's pond-lake-thing, and not the crater that Bel had left in the park 11 years ago, though Anakin was sorely tempted.

Beaker stood next to him in his crash helmet as Anakin began bellowing through the megaphone. "There will be three teams of six," he began. "And as I have run out of regular t-shirts, I have provided beautiful patterned shirts."

No one would possibly think these were beautiful.

"Listen for your names, then brainstorm out a easy to assemble trebuchet and construct it! When you are finished, summon Beaker over and shoot him into the pond. The team close enough to dead center--" he pointed to a target floating on the water, "--wins."

Though no one won wearing these shirts. Force alone knew where he'd gotten one big enough for Sidon.

Team Kitty-Dolphin:
Amaya
Shuri
Summer
Nina
Regina
Vette

Team Pizza Cat:
Iris
Norman
Rosa
Mae
Tip
Sidon

Team Dinosaur Sloth (Yes. That's a romper. BONUS.):
Wayne
Ben
Prompto
Steve
Kanan
Pastor Carter

Erm.

Well.

Nina floated above her shirt dubiously. Her little white wings keeping her hovering there as she, a small pink snake, studied it the best she could. She was pretty sure it was really ugly.

First, like, she wasn't sure she could wear it—it looked like it could fit her usually?—and then she wasn't sure, like, she was going to be any help at this activity. Construction? Hahahahaha.

But… sure.

One flying pink snake reporting for duty?

At least she and Vette were on the same team!

"Ooooh," Vette said, picking up her shirt and admiring it. "So that's a dolphin."

That was a shark, Vette.

"I love it."

She really did, too.

Vette!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Incoming flying noodle friend, Vette!

Nina could not talk but she could flap around excitedly.

"Hey, if it isn't my favorite noodle!" Vette was beaming as she held up her shirt for Nina to inspect. "Isn't this great?"

She loved this. It was going to go into her usual wardrobe rotation, just wait and see.

Regina held up the shirt and looked it over critically.

"No."

Not even Roni would wear that atrocity.

"I'd say it's not the worst shirt I've ever seen, but that wouldn't be true," Shuri said with a grin, putting hers on over her regular, non terrifying shirt.

"He understands I didn't sign up for this, right?" Regina asked, still glaring at the ugly shirt. "I did not sign up for this."

There was only one person she could think of who could talk her into that shirt. And none of the three various Henrys she currently knew of were anywhere near here.

"I don't think that's ever mattered," Shuri said. "I'm Shuri. Are you new?"
heartinabox: (aren't you cute)

"Regina." She finally looked up from the shirt and offered Shuri a small smile. The girl was already doing a reasonably good job at cutting through her bad mood what with being a Disney princess and all. "And yes. I arrived last week." She looked up at the painfully clear blue sky with a sigh. "I must say, I almost miss the smog. I have no idea how people live with this kind of weather."

"Where are you from where you don't trust blue skies?" Shuri asked. "Sunny and hot is what we have at home most of the year."

"Maine," Regina said. "And Seattle." The Enchanted Forest had its share of blue skies -- more than, even -- but the temperature was generally perfectly moderate, thank you. That was part of the whole "Enchanted" package.

"Okay," said Summer, as she looked over her shirt, "I should be worried that I kind of love the crap out of this, right?"

Because she honestly wasn't sure anymore. Sure, cats and rainbow-spewing sharks were pretty bad-ass, but she also knew that her taste level had become highly questionable over the last year or so, and a second (or third or fourth) opinion could be valuable at that moment.
