Parker munches on some more caviar, thinking. "True, but your band still doesn't know, do they? What are they doing right now, anyway?"

One grape escapes and makes a break for the edge of the counter.

"Parker, your grape is escaping. Flora wants to find a new singer, since I'm, y'know, never there. She says I could still guest-sing or whatever when I'm home. Which is far nicer than some of her previous offers..."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Parker pounces on it, and manages to save the grape from any marauding teal deer. "Thanks. That kind of sucks, still. Isn't it your band? And your music?"

A crudite with strawberry jam is left out for experimental purposees. To see if teal deer like strawberries.

It would seem that teal deer do, in fact, like strawberries. Researchers would be astounded.

"Theoretically, but they already almost kicked me out once. Maybe I could start a band here."

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Parker notes the results with interest, and eats the shrimp. Because they're good shrimp. And she needs to eat more of this if she's going to continue the experiment.

"Hmmmm." Parker narrowed her eyes, thinking. "You could? I mean, it's not like the zombie band is much competition. And you could get work on the mainland, some weekends. There's got to be a few more people here who'd want to join up."

"Hmm. I don't know who's really musical, even. I guess I could do auditions."

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
"That'd be amusing."

Another crudite is left out to the side, with a slice of gouda on it. More data to be collected.

"What instruments would you need? You sing and play guitar. Drums, keyboards...?"

Re: Lunch

[personal profile] swerval_zero 2006-03-31 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't know about keyboard, but we'd need a bass. And another guitar, preferably."

Gouda, coincidentally, is one of Zero's favorite cheeses. The crudite quickly disappears.

The wildlife report on the teal deer is becoming more comprehensive. Parker eats a few grapes as she ponders her next move.

"So at least three people, maybe four. You could hold auditions this semester, and then work on it over the summer. You're going back to be around when Arsenal has the baby, right?"

Re: Lunch

[personal profile] swerval_zero 2006-03-31 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, and I'm supposed to be goin' to summer classes, get a jump start on film school. But mostly? Eee baby!"

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Snickering, Parker said, "Damn. I wish I knew what I was doing this summer."

Another little toastie, this one with a slice of summer sausage, is place off to the side of the main food area. Parker is not looking at it.

"And baby, yay. Do they have names picked out yet? Hunh. Your niece or nephew will be the same age as Rory's little brother. Odd."

Re: Lunch

Zero Teal deer, it seems, do not care for summer sausage. "Maybe they can date when they grow up."

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Parker, on the other hand, is quite fond of it, and after the teal deer have had sufficient time to reconsider, she eats it in two neat bites.

"Heh. And their kids would be.... Frappachino Scar Hopeless-Savage Gilmore -- what? What's Arsena's guy's last name again?"

It's possible there's a shrimp on a cracker left alone, a sad target for roaming bluish omnivores.

[personal profile] swerval_zero 2006-03-31 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Shi, Claude Shi. The designer?"

Poor little shrimp onna cracker. It never stood a chance against those vicious bluish omnivores.

((All things considered, Parker should probably have heard of Claude.))

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
"Ooooooo." Parker is distracted from data-gathering by this new information. "Boot by Claude Shi, that Shi? I love his stuff! I have two of his jackets!" She grinned, and downed another caviar-laden crudite. "Do you know when his next show is going to be? Because I'd love an excuse to see it."

The grapes are carefully protected, but the gouda is sadly at risk.

"I dunno about the shows, but I could ask. Usually I just go to their place and poke through whatever's new. He did my dress for Homecoming, y'know. I'm sure he'd give me a ticket for you, but he is kind of distracted right now. Y'know."

A chunk of gouda makes a mysterious disappearance.

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 03:57 am (UTC)(link)
Hmm. Interesting. They take risks.

"Well, sure. Baby." Parker's still gleeful. "But any time he has another one, let me know. Your dress was gorgeous. I'd love to attend a show."

Parker finishes up the summer sausage and the caviar, then divvys up the grapes, the gouda, and the shrimp.

The grapes are hoarded, except one. The gouda is put away, except for a teeny slice next to the grape. And the shrimp are kept for Parker, because she really, really likes shrimp.

Excpet for one that goes next to the gouda and the grape.

[personal profile] swerval_zero 2006-03-31 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, of course I'll tell you. It'll be swerval."

The shrimp disappears first.

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
The shrimp's disappearance is noted and put down as odd for deer, but not for anything from Fandom, really.

"Reminds me. I was thinking of asking Anakin or Bridge along for the weekend after this one. Are you okay with that?"

And the last strawberry jam crudite is eaten by Parker. Because they're really really yummy. And she already knows the teal deer like them.
swerval_zero: (Default)

Re: Lunch

[personal profile] swerval_zero 2006-03-31 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Now the grape and the wee slice of gouda are gone as well. The teal deer should really be full by now.

"No, 'course I don't care. More the merrier, as far as I'm concerned. But why Anakin or Bridge?"

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Parker paused, not sure how to explain this without lying for a second. But it's too important, and if they find anything, her friends will all be there anyway.

"I haven't been back there since my mom died." She took a deep breath. "And I have a lot of questions about that. I'll explain more when we're in private some time. But not where there's-- shrubbery problems." She carefully wiped up the last of the crumbs. "I'm hoping that maybe they could find things in the house that were important to my mom, since one's psychic and the other's Jedi. Does that make sense?"

She glances behind Zero, and her eyes widen. "Teal deer."
swerval_zero: (save the teal deer!)

Re: Lunch

[personal profile] swerval_zero 2006-03-31 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, that makes--"

Zero whipped around. "Where?"

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Hunh." Parker frowned. "Could've sworn I saw something blue over by-- right. Special Collections." She paused. "That explains where parts of my lunch went."

Re: Lunch

[personal profile] swerval_zero 2006-03-31 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, yeah. That must be what happened to it." Zero might have looked a little guilty.

Re: Lunch

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-03-31 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
"We'll have to leave out more gouda and grapes for them. And maybe some little shrimp. Set up a photo blind." Parker nodded thoughtfully, slowly starting to grin. "Ya think?"
