Even Anakin wasn't going to invite the entire town to stand outside in radiation and next to a bomb just for a day of competition (though yes, he had considered in for a hot minute). Today's event was being held in the community center and the flickering lights and general malaise just kind of added to what would be the world's weirdest fashion show.
Because, yes, there was a catwalk set up down the center, currently being sat upon by a small herd (committee? Murder?) of gremlins.
"Today we will reprise last year's highly popular gremlin fashion show," Anakin yelled into the completely unnecessary bullhorn.
It was only popular if you'd talked to Sparkle and Brooke, who'd been judges last year, but details. "You will be paired up!" Anakin continued. "You will have a variety of crafting supplies including macrame patterns, felt, rope, yarn, glue, staplers, and stun guns!"
Stun guns were craft supplies if you squinted? Maybe?
"You will have a half hour to create your masterpiece, another fifteen minutes to fit your model into it without getting bitten--" so good luck with that, "and then send him, her, or them down the runway for our guest judges to assess your work!"
He gestured at the chairs next to the runway. "Please welcome--" he frowned as Beaker handed him the list, "--Sparkle, Brooke, Keyleth, and..Camden."
This wasn't exactly what he meant when he'd asked Beaker to round up some catty judges. Oh well!
"Listen for your names!"

Re: Create!!! - Team 10
Fjord's mouth opened.
And shut.
And then opened again.
And shut... again.
And then he cleared his throat.
"As, ah, fate would have it, the island's got a few of those on it."
Dicks? Detectives? His brain wasn't firing on all cylinders at the moment.

Re: Create!!! - Team 10
Fjord was reasonably certain what she needed was to be locked in a closet or something until this was out of her system. As it stood, he was mostly just nodding. A very fervent, maybe slightly panicked nod, eyes darting toward the Community Center door.
...
"Well, if you, ah, want an assist," he hedged, "I can show you the way. You'll wanna stay close. Never know what's lurking streets like those on days like this."
Especially on days like this.
Sorry, Amaya. He understood that winning these things was a goal of yours, buuuuuut you kept touching his chest and it was making his whole entire brain turn inside-out.
Re: Create!!! - Team 10
She did not seem to be in any particular hurry to separate, though, lingering the way she did before finally twisting away, making the most out of all the arching and curving her body was capable of as she moved, including a wave of hair that seemed directly intended for his face.
And there was absolutely not an ounce of hurry in the slow, hip-swaying steps she started taking toward the door once she had moved away from Fjord, or in the pause she took to look over her shoulder becomingly to ensure that he was following. "You are coming...aren't you?"
Re: Create!!! - Team 10
"Not terribly likely," Fjord mumbled under his breath. A little more loudly, he added, "Right behind you, Ma'am."
Which, uh, wouldn't be conducive to getting her to the proper place at all.
"... Beside you," he amended. "Right beside you."
Re: Create!!! - Team 10
Forget anything regarding what she was doing there in the first place, that clearly wasn't important right now.
"What happened here?" she asked. Clearly aghast. And clinging.
So, so much clinging.
Re: Create!!! - Team 10
... In hindsight, Fjord probably could have thought 'get Amaya home safely' through better. Maybe kept her occupied with fashion design or something until the venom wore off. The whole post-calamity landscape out there was, uh...
"Nobody's quite sure," he ventured, and then mumbled a, "but I'm gonna pull out a big-assed sword to make sure nothin' happens between here and where we're goin', if that won't bother you none."
He felt like, perhaps, full-disclosure with a trembling, envenomed Amaya clinging to his arm was probably the better part of valor, here.
Re: Create!!! - Team 10
"Then I don't have anything to worry about," Jessica all but cooed, somewhere in the vicinity of his ear (of course), "with such a big...strong man and his big...powerful sword to protect me."
Re: Create!!! - Team 10
"Yeah," he added, after another pause. "Nothin' to worry about at all."
He'd just get her home and that'd be that, wouldn't it? It wasn't like the forge was that far from here...
