Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The lawn was arranged with tables and chairs - some near the food, some not - and there was plenty of food to go around. The school had even wised up and put to-go boxes by the plates, so people didn't have to put food in their pockets to take it with them for later. No one was gonna judge you for making some pocket bacon, but at least now it wasn't a necessity.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

It was also a good place to be spotted by friend-hungry shark-people on the prowl for new faces.

But Sidon understood that some people separated themselves from crowds specifically because they didn't care to be a part of them, so he tried ensure that his toothy grin was extra friendly as he nodded to the new girl and waved a hand before coming over. "Welcome to Fandom!" he offered brightly. "I am correct in the assumption that you are one of our new, exciting students, am I not?"

Entrapta gasped, face lighting up. She shot up into the air, balanced on her ponytails, until she was face-to-face with Sidon. "Well, hello," she said. "You're very tall. And your teeth are excellent. How far back do they go?"

Well, this was certainly something new, and Sidon had to chuckle, positively delighted to be able to look at someone without craning his own neck or straining his poor, hunched back. His posture truly had taken a toll since coming here, so he took advantage of the opportunity to square his shoulders properly and actually stand to his full height for a change.

"Thank you!" he gushed over the compliment, grinning extra wide for her now that she could see them even closer. "Though I'm afraid they don't go back very far; it's only the one row. I understand sharks of this world have several, but I am not a shark. I am a Zora! I am actually Sidon!" And here, he pumped his fist across his chest, and grinned one more time, this time catching the light just right to make one of those excellent teeth sparkle. "The Zora Prince! And Zora share very few things in common with sharks, beyond a need for water and a few intriguing aesthetic similarities."

Entrapta was only listening to about half of that, her hair pulling out a tape measure to get a general idea of how big he was. "I didn't think you were a shark," she said, darting around him to measure every conceivable part of him. "I thought you might be a princess, though. Princess? Prince. Oh! You said you were!"

She was back to excited again. "Are you from Etheria, too?"

And Sidon, who had never really been measured before, was more than content to just let this new girl do her thing with faint amusement, going so far as to hopefully help her out a little by holding out his arms to assist her in being thorough (but certainly not too thorough, that could be a little bit awkward) in her calculations. He had to admit, he was a little curious about what they might be, but he was fairly certain that, whatever they would, they were undeniably impressive.

"Alas," he informed her with a note of regret, "I am not. I am from a land called Hyrule, and I'm afraid I've never heard of Etheria before. Is it as lovely as it sounds? Why, it just rolls right off the tongue magnificently, doesn't it?"

"It's home to countless untold mysteries!" Entrapta announced and it was entirely possible she would try to get too thorough - in a completely dispassionate, clinical way - so it was a good thing he was ready to gently fend her off. But it was for Science!

Also, were countless untold mysteries lovely? She certainly thought so. "So much science and technology there for us to understand and take advantage of it. And magic! Science and magic existing in harmony!"

And also the Horde and the Fright Zone and Dryl itself was kind of an austere, rocky kingdom, but those were very low on Entrapta's list of priorities.
