Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II
The lawn was arranged with tables and chairs - some near the food, some not - and there was plenty of food to go around. The school had even wised up and put to-go boxes by the plates, so people didn't have to put food in their pockets to take it with them for later. No one was gonna judge you for making some pocket bacon, but at least now it wasn't a necessity.
[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
In the meanwhile there were other people to watch. Size up. Maybe ogle here and there.
Tattooed nightmare teacher on deck.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
He didn't see Jack. He was looking around for Kanan.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
Then she did run. Right at his back. Lips skinned back in a manic, gleeful, terrible smile.
When she was close enough, she leapt and hit the ground with biotics for a small added boost.
Incoming, asshole.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
It gave him just enough time to recognize her and what was about to happen. Time enough to brace and catch her around the waist when she landed on him.
"JACK!"
"What are you.. Why.. how?.. You said New Year's Eve!" he spluttered up into her face when his brain derailed.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
"Did I forget to tell you I was hired? I'm teaching Civics here this semester so yeah, I'll be here for New Year's and yeah, we are dragging Kanan and Sparkle out for some fun because so help me you all need it."
She had not forgotten to mention it. She had not told him on purpose specifically so she could enjoy this moment. It wasn't often she got to pull a rug completely out from under him.
It was the little things in life that gave her such joy.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
"You're teaching here this semester?" Kaidan echoed. He kept hold of her with one arm and used the other to reach up and try to scrub his forehead.
Damnit. That feeling was just going to linger. He scowled at her. It was a complete opposite of how he was feeling. Surprise, growing joy, gratitude. Just a complete stew of emotions while his brain came to terms that she was here, and not just for a weekend this time.
"Civics?" That wasn't what he would have picked as a subject.
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
Teaching all those young, impressionable kids how to rebel properly. Think about it, Kaidan!
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
Kaidan listened and then laughed. He knew very well what she meant. "Oh god. We're all doomed. Time to evacuate the ship and swim for it. Jack's teaching the kids how to break the law and not get caught."
Re: General Mingling [Spring 2019]
Always was.
