Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Despite the not-so-great weather earlier in the week, the weather today looked nice and... well, decent for the end of December, and while the rest of town might still have signs of last week's snow, there were no traces left outside the school. (It just meant one less uncomfortable question for the big siblings to deal with, you're welcome.)

The buffet table was ready, set as far as possible from the glittered-out blue and gold tables and chairs. The winter bonfire was crackling for warmth and food-toasting opportunities. The lists of siblings and roommates had been double-checked. It looked like everything was ready for a picnic!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Well, Nerdy Mac was a big fan of 'yes, and?' for every situation. And making his little brother cry by fucking up his plots in the live shows.

And now Sweet Dee was left wondering if there had ever been a steel horse on which Nerdy Mac had ridden.

"I'll have to take your word for it on that one, Nerdy Mac," she told him, and would have toasted again, but her wine can was sadly empty at this point. She really should have brought reserves.

"So, what are you, then? You teach at this school, too? What do you even teach?"

They let you teach here, Deandra, don't even act surprised.

It didn't sound like a class. It did sound like something a Nerdy Mac would totally pretend was a class, but it was definitely no way an actual class.

...and whether she could turn that into a class.

She wasn't smart, no, but she could be clever when she needed to be.

"....how'd that work out for you?" she asked, since she really couldn't think of anything else to say to that.

"My buddy Cara--" He glanced around to find her, but came up lacking. "You'll know her when you see her. She wears a lot of red leather. A lot. But we did pretty good. Had an 80's montage in it and some synergy and stuff."

Everything. Just...everything, coming out of his mouth right now. How was this not Mac? How did she come all the way from Philly and the first person she talked to was basically Mac?

And though she was already convinced fifty times over, she still had to keep asking.
