Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
Despite the not-so-great weather earlier in the week, the weather today looked nice and... well, decent for the end of December, and while the rest of town might still have signs of last week's snow, there were no traces left outside the school. (It just meant one less uncomfortable question for the big siblings to deal with, you're welcome.)
The buffet table was ready, set as far as possible from the glittered-out blue and gold tables and chairs. The winter bonfire was crackling for warmth and food-toasting opportunities. The lists of siblings and roommates had been double-checked. It looked like everything was ready for a picnic!
[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
...who was apparently a princess. He didn't know if it was just random chance, or someone's idea of a joke, or just the fact that it was apparently his lot in life to be wingman to royalty, but it should be interesting. And the two princes he was friends with were both so different from each other as it was that he didn't even know what to expect with this one. But he was going to try to keep an eye out for someone who looked princess-y. Or who, at the very least, had ENTRAPTA on her nametag.
Whewboy. What a name.
Thought the guy named Prompto.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
The fact that she was wearing coveralls and a workboots and a shirt with a grease-stain on it (as well as a welders mask and goggles), probably also made her easy to overlook. Well, as a princess, anyway. Most people seemed to notice her in general.
Maybe it was the 'walking on her hair' thing?
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
even when not so blatantly fanservicey as some. The hair, though, now that was definitely something new, and while he might have shook his head back into focus on the fact that he was looking for a princess, he just couldn't get over that hair and the whole fact that, yeah, it definitely looked like she was using her hair and walking on it.
He couldn't just leave that hanging.
"Okay," he said, coming up to her, knocking a little peace-sign of a wave at her with a faint smile, dispensing a few formalities before getting to the important stuff, "hi, I'm Prompto, you're probably going to get this question a lot, but I've really, really gotta ask: how are you even doing that?"
And he would ask if it was something he could learn how to do, but it would take forever for his hair to get that long, and, truth be told, he really didn't think it'd be a great look for him, either.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
It wasn't really a thing back home in Etheria, either, but everybody was just used to princesses being able to do weird things or have weird parts, so everyone just kind of shrugged and moved on. "As for how, a magical field permeates my hair-cells, causing mutual attraction across the gaps between strands. These relatively small forces operate in conjunction to develop larger forces, which I can then manipulate with thought and concentration...."
She could go on like that for awhile. It was okay to interrupt, Prompto. Very okay.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
...and realized that they might just spend the whole picnic mired in this explanation, which would be fine, really, he wouldn't mind at all! But at the same time....
"...sooooo," he managed to squeeze in there somewhere, when she had to eventually take a breath (right?) or at least a pause for a period, "it's a form of magic? Were you born with it
or maybe it's Maybellineor was it something you learned?"No, Prompto! Don't ask her more questions!
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Ohhh, Prompto liked you, you hair-riding princess, you.
"Princesses, huh?" he grinned a little. "I think you might just be the person I'm looking for, then. Entrapta, right? I'm Prompto," yes, you said that already, but that was also, like, a whole long-winded hair-explanation ago, too, "I'm actually your Big Sibling! I'm suppose you help you, like, get acquainted and comfortable with the place, make sure to answer any of your questions, stuff like that. And that's pretty cool, actually, about the magic, because, where I'm from, all the royalty is totally born with magic, too, only it's more connected to crystals than runestones, maybe hair, too, I wouldn't know, but I'll fight anyone who tries and tells me there isn't something magical about that perfectly broody mop on top of Prince Noctis's head."
Slight pause.
"Nothing nearly as epic as yours, though," he felt the need to add, lest she wind up being tragically disappointed should she ever meet Noct.
Also, he did sort of just ramble on without confirming that, yes, this was his Little Sibling, so if it turned out that this wasn't Entrapta and just some other princess...er...oh well?
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
He seemed more of a medium-sized sibling, to be honest, but she'd need to get out her tape measure to be sure. Maybe it just mattered that he was bigger than her?
Because he was that. Entrapta was very short. That was one of the reasons her hair was so useful! It meant she could be taller and see things.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
There was eventually a point where Prompto's own rambling kind of reached an awkward stop where he wasn't sure what the next step was supposed to be.
"Soooo, uh," he tried, "do you have any questions? Where are you from? I mean, I've probably never heard of it, but it's still nice to know. That was one of the first things that really tripped me out about this place when I got here, people come from all over the place, and I've never heard of anything. I never even heard of Earth before I got here, either, though."
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
Fortunately, she paused for another breath on the easiest question for Prompto to answer.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Spring 2019]
And he was going to try his hardest to remember all of them, but with remembering and trying to find the best spot to wedge in with answers, he knew he was definitely going to miss something. But, hey, if it was important enough to Entrapta, she'd probably be more than happy to backtrack, right?
"Okay," he jumped in when he could, "first, lab space, I'm sure there's some in the school, maybe talk to the science teacher about something like that? He might know; I know the shop teach was pretty cool about us using shop space if we needed. Uhhh," crap, Prompto, don't stop to think, she'll start in with more questions if you give her an opening, "plenty of food, there's usually stuff in the common rooms, but there's also restaurants and Turtle & Canary's kind of a general store, lots of stuff there, I don't know what the First Ones are, so I don't know if there's First Ones tech because I wouldn't know what that is, there aren't servants here, sorry, but there are...some robots, I think? But not many, and going to school here means going to whatever classes you're assigned to once a week and doing whatever the teacher's doing for that class that day, which is way different and a lot more casual than what I'm used to. Sometimes you might even have days where you don't have any classes."
Which he thought was nice, because it meant he got to play more video games, but he had a feeling that Entrapta was the type that liked to keep busier than that.
And he think he got...most of them? Probably not all of them, but he felt pretty proud of what he managed to spit out!
