Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone had been keeping a close eye on the weather, and gave a sigh of relief as it turned out to be a pretty decent day. Sure, it was still a little warm, but it wasn't humid, or raining something strange. You had to take your wins where you could get them around here.

As usual, there was a buffet of food awaiting the folks on the welcome shuttle, and blue and gold tables and chairs were set up across the lawn, most still covered in glitter from the last picnic. Sorry not! Happy picnic day!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Kanan was quiet for a few moments. Well... hell.

"I'm keeping an eye on one in particular," he said, finally. "She's in my class. I've got some concerns, but..." He made a so-so gesture with one hand. "Not as many as I could. Want me to keep you apprised of that situation once I know more?"

The situation he hadn't said anything about beyond, 'hey, it's a situation.' That one.

"Please," Anakin said, glancing around for one that might be giving Kanan a bad feeling. "Her?" he asked, gesturing with his head.

Kanan glanced that way, just briefly. And then he nodded.

"Yeah," he agreed. "That one."

Pretty damn open about what she was.

... Weirdly reasonable. It was breaking Kanan's brain.

"...huh," Anakin said, sinking into the Force and blinking hard at what it was sending back. "She's...weirdly mellow. I don't trust it."

"Trust me, it's even weirder once you've had a chance to talk to her." He paused. "She doesn't know what I am, but she seemed pretty okay with the chance that she was outnumbered by Jedi here."

He spread his hands a little.

"She says this is neutral ground, she'll honor that if the Jedi do, and she'd love the chance to sit down with one sometime to talk about the similarities between Jedi and Sith traditions."

Which had totally broken his head.

"And she meant it?" Anakin said, boggling. "Not a secret 'let's lock you in a room and kill everyone mwahaha'?"

Not that he'd done that before. Cough.

"As far as I could tell... yeah," Kanan replied, boggling right back. A little more subtly. "I mean, there wasn't a single word about rooms or killing, anyway. Hell, she seemed to enjoy it when I gave her some attitude."

Rather than... you know... electrocuting him to death or something.

"She is a very confusing Sith," Kanan said, throwing one hand in the air, because sometimes you just had to throw a hand into the air, dammit. "For... all the Sith I've ever met."
