Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone had been keeping a close eye on the weather, and gave a sigh of relief as it turned out to be a pretty decent day. Sure, it was still a little warm, but it wasn't humid, or raining something strange. You had to take your wins where you could get them around here.

As usual, there was a buffet of food awaiting the folks on the welcome shuttle, and blue and gold tables and chairs were set up across the lawn, most still covered in glitter from the last picnic. Sorry not! Happy picnic day!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Oh," Prompto looked over, shot a little wave back. This guy looked like a totally typical, normal person, not unlike the guys he used to go to school with, so that was kind of a relief, mostly, and he grinned a little. "Hey, man. Jason, then, right? Nice to meet you."

He...never had a roommate before. What did you sat to roommates? What was expected here? He had no idea. But of course he couldn't just leave it at that.

"And, uh, hey, I don't snore! At least, I don't think I do. So you've got that going for you."

"I guess that's something," Jason grinned. "I'm pretty sure I don't either, so I guess we're both safe there."

"Good," Prompto laughed a little, bobbing his head a little more than necessary, unable to keep still on one foot or the other. "That's good! That's...ugh!" He shook his head, laugh again. "Sorry, dude, this is kinda weird for me. I've never really had a roommate before."

His days of squeezing into a tent or onto a hotel bed with three other dudes were still far, far ahead of him at this point.

"Nah, I get it," Jason said. "Me neither, before I came here. I think it's one of those things that's supposed to help us socialize or whatever, since we're all away from home."

Prompto's head bobbed again, but he tried to keep that twitch in check before his brains rattled out or something. "I guess I can see that," he said. "So...when did you get here?"
