Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone had been keeping a close eye on the weather, and gave a sigh of relief as it turned out to be a pretty decent day. Sure, it was still a little warm, but it wasn't humid, or raining something strange. You had to take your wins where you could get them around here.

As usual, there was a buffet of food awaiting the folks on the welcome shuttle, and blue and gold tables and chairs were set up across the lawn, most still covered in glitter from the last picnic. Sorry not! Happy picnic day!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Wonderful!" Sidon spread his arms eagerly; this was some of the best news he'd received today! After all, it would be incredibly awkward if his newest sibling didn't seem interested in being friends, that sort of made the whole dynamic a little off-kilter. "And, no, I have not been here very long," certainly not by Zora consideration, "but long enough that I'm confident that I can be a trustworthy guide for you. It's been just about a year now, actually. How's that for a perspective! Just a year ago, it was me in your shoes, being new and unfamiliar to this strange and marvelous place!"

"But you seem like you'd fit in so well here!!!!!! Only a year???? That's amazing!!!!!" And Nina meant all of it, even if she had no idea how well he fit in at all. After all, Prince Sidon was so friendly!!!!! How could he not fit in????? "I have, like, so many questions I don't even know where to start????"

It was rare indeed that someone could manage to match Sidon not only on enthusiasm but also on completely over-the-top but completely sincere compliments, too, and he was just over the moon about it. He chuckled, his energy feeding off hers and building, and eventually, one of them was probably going to burst.

"That's more than understandable!" he said with a laugh. "Take your time! We've got all day to get through whatever questions you may have, though I imagine you wouldn't want to spend all day with just me, when there are so many other wonderful people to meet and help out as well!"

Yes, but they'd go out very happy and that was the most important thing, right?

"You're so right!!!!! I already met my roommate and we're going to be, like, the very best of friends!!!!!!"

The school had made a terrible, terrible mistake in putting Nina and Vette in the same room. It was going to be so great!!!!!

"And I'd love to meet more people!!!! But right now I'm talking to you and that's just wonderful too!!!!!!"

Was it possible for Sidon's grin to get bigger? Because it was definitely trying to see just how big it could go right now, because Nina was the most charming and sweet person he'd ever met, of that he was certain.

"And I find talking with you just wonderful as well!" he said, sincerely and wholeheartedly. "And how excellent that you've already got a roommate whose company you enjoy so much! That is certainly an inspiring beginning! Well, perhaps, Nina, we can get things started with me asking you a question: which room is yours? That way, should I need to find you or check up on you, I'll know just where to find you. I, myself, am in Room 420, and I encourage you to feel free to pop in for a visit whenever you'd like, though I will warn you, my own roommate can be...." He sucked in a breath, hesitating slightly, not wanting to speak ill of Paris though they only managed to get on...tolerably, "...a bit off-putting, at first. But she's very....patient, and incredibly smart."
