Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone had been keeping a close eye on the weather, and gave a sigh of relief as it turned out to be a pretty decent day. Sure, it was still a little warm, but it wasn't humid, or raining something strange. You had to take your wins where you could get them around here.

As usual, there was a buffet of food awaiting the folks on the welcome shuttle, and blue and gold tables and chairs were set up across the lawn, most still covered in glitter from the last picnic. Sorry not! Happy picnic day!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Kanan sighed. Heavily.

"Remember how last time around, it was a Mandalorian?"

And Sabine was actually great and they liked Sabine, so that had worked out well enough?

Hera smiled. "And Sabine is great," she agreed with the narrative. "But you were understandably worried." She frowned a little. "Another student from the Empire, like that one girl you told me about?"

Kanan reached up the hand that wasn't holding his coffee and scrubbed at his face for a few moments.

"So, we have a Sith in our class this semester."

"A Sith??"

"Yeah," Kanan agreed. "A... confusingly pleasant, strangely level-headed... Sith."

Because the island wasn't done trying to break his brain, apparently.

Yeah, Hera's brain was breaking a little over that, too.

"No matter how pleasant they are, what if they report about this place to the Emperor?" Hera asked.

Kanan spread his hands a little, at a loss.

"I don't know," he admitted. "She mentioned something about former Jedi she'd known. And talked about Sith like they were everywhere. I don't think she's from anywhere near our time."

What with how they didn't have a wealth of either.

"I don't know if that's a comfort or not," Hera admitted. "And she's in our class? She didn't find out about you, did she?"

She hastily looked around for squirrels. "Don't tell anybody that!"

Kanan smiled wryly.

"I kept... me... under wraps," he replied. "But I'm not going to be able to keep it that way forever, either. And I'm still not the only one here. I can't go on hiding for weeks the way I did with Sabine. Not every time someone new from home shows up."
