Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

Everyone had been keeping a close eye on the weather, and gave a sigh of relief as it turned out to be a pretty decent day. Sure, it was still a little warm, but it wasn't humid, or raining something strange. You had to take your wins where you could get them around here.

As usual, there was a buffet of food awaiting the folks on the welcome shuttle, and blue and gold tables and chairs were set up across the lawn, most still covered in glitter from the last picnic. Sorry not! Happy picnic day!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

“I did,” Hannibal said, “though not nearly so eventful as yours. Did you buy many new dresses?” he asked conspiratorially. “Or do we need to go shopping?”

"We always need to go shopping, Papa!" It was just a fact of Alluka's life. "Though, though I don't have any money saved up right now. So I'll need to work hard at Demon Marcus first."

Alluka had learned a lot about money from being broke on the trip, she really had.

"But I did get a few new things," she admitted.

"Perhaps we'll need to go as my treat, for a welcome back," Hannibal suggested. "And you will definitely have to show me your new things when you tell your other Papa and I all about your trip."

She brightened.

"I'd love to tell you both all about it," Alluka said happily, doing a little twirl, just because she could. "Is Papa Jono here today? And, and I'd love to go shopping!"

"He is staying home today, but we can drop in on him later, if you like," Hannibal said.

Alluka considered that. She wanted to see her room again--and make sure it was still hers--but she also wanted to see her papas more after not having spent any time this summer with them.

"Do you think he'd mind if I dropped in on him?"

"I am reasonably certain he will never mind you dropping in on him," Hannibal said, smiling. "He will want to hear all about your adventures as well."

"Then I'd like that, very much!" she beamed, relieved that it wouldn't be a problem. "Have you been well, Papa Hannibal?"

"I have, yes." Hannibal smiled at her. "Your Papa Jono and I have just returned from our own vacation at a beach. Before that, I was teaching in the town."

"What were you teaching?" she asked eagerly. "Did you have fun at the beach?"

"People brought me whatever they liked, and I cooked it," Hannibal answered. "And we did. We did quite a lot of swimming." When they weren't holed up in the bedroom for entirely a different reason than most married couples.
