Creature Languages, 3/27, Period 3

Dream appears preoccupied as he hands a quiz to each student upon their entrance to class.

The quiz is ten questions on Raven and Parseltongue, mostly translations.

When most of the quizzes are in, he starts a video.

Victor signs in.

Blair signed in

Blair does fine on parseltongue...apparently Lord ~~Vizzle~~ Voldemort was a good teacher. But he struggles with Raven and he's almost positive that 'suck worms, loser!' wasn't how that translation was supposed to turn out.

Xander signed in.

"Excuse me, Professor Dream?"

With everything that had happened lately, Victor hadn't taken as much time as usual to study his languages. He did alright with Raven, and tried his hardest with Parseltongue, though there was at least one translation that he felt like he got horribly wrong.

Halfway watching the movie, Blair fiddles with a bright red envelope and tries to take notes.

Xander kind of sucks at Raven. ~~Because after having handwavied the conversation with Matthew it'd be totally unfair for him not to.~~ Granted he's better at translating it when it's sitting on a piece of paper in front of him than when talking to an actual Raven, so it's not totally flubbed. Parseltongue is okay, though still clearly not what he was put on this earth to speak.

Jake signs in.

Victor handed Blair a note. If he chose to read it, it said:

Blair-

I've been having some problems lately, and I was wondering if you could teach me some stuff on either meditation or relaxing. I'm trying to learn ways to not get so stressed out anymore. Thanks!

Jake's Raven translation wavers into Rat, but the Parseltongue translations goes fairly well. He gets the main ideas across, even if the details are a little fudged.

Jake looks like he's really regretting not bringing a thermos of coffee into class.

Zero signed in.

Okay, sharks and dolphins are just cool. ~~Even if they don't have frickin' lasers attached to their heads.~~ Xander watches with interest. Though he's probably distractable if you want to talk to him.

Zero does all right at Raven, nothing spectacular, and actually rather well at Parseltongue. Terror of the guest speaker seems to have made her perform better. She does muck up a few bits, though, because all those sibilants get confusing after a while.

Zero spent half of the video hiding her eyes and peeping through her fingers. Did she mention she's deathly afraid of sharks?

Paige signs in, glad that the scary looking guy from last week isn't there.

Paige has actually been studying, she gets a B

Oddly enough? Xander has one. Goes with this whole 'Drink more coffee' kick he's been on recently. He eyes Jake, grins, and offers it.

Walter signs in.

Blair looked at the note and then scribbled and tossed the note back to Victor.

No problem, man, I'd be happy to help. Just let me know a good time for you and we can sit down and talk over some options.
