Physical Education, Thursday - 2nd Period

Today there was a stack of thoroughly ridiculous equipment for each student and one super hyped teacher. The other slightly less hyped, but at least there weren't more horses this time around.

"Welcome back," Tony said brightly, epee in hand like he was Zorro or some shit. "Today we'll be learning about fencing. There's safety equipment here for you to wear so no one loses an eye. Which... can happen, I'm sure."

"My mother was convinced that I would lose an eye," Steve said. "Just walking down the street, apparently, I could lose an eye. Or I'd get kidnapped."

Not the point, Steve. "Anyway, today we're doing another rich people sport." Sorry not sorry, Tony. "Fencing! Which is...like jousting but without horses, I guess."

"Jousting would be a lot more dangerous," Tony replied, rolling his eyes. "You'll need a partner for this lesson, so look around to choose one. Though you can practice the moves on your own if you feel more comfortable that way."

Horses plus pointy things! What could go wrong? ...don't answer that. "Tony will lead you through this because he learned to fence in prep school," Steve said with a teasing grin. "I played with rocks in an alley."

"We'll cover that another week," Tony added dryly. "But first, as is traditional, here's Captain America to warn you all about the importance of not getting your eye poked out."

Norman didn't trust himself with a sword any more than Tip had back in Sidon's world, no. So he was kind of hanging out by himself off to the side, awkwardly trying to mimic some of Tony's moves, there.

Yeah, no, he was not a sword guy by any stretch of the imagination.

It was...a little difficult to try to pretend you were a Valkyrie with something like an epee, but that didn't stop Astrid from trying at least a little bit. She was actually a little more interested in trying the forms properly. She'd seen fencing in action before and was always mesmerized by how it was both a fight and a dance, and it was kind of cool to get to experience from this side of the weapon.

She was definitely going to try to get away with going through the forms by herself for as long as she could, too, feeling like another person would just distract her.

"I know this one!" Paris said, actually excited about PE for once. "I do this at home!"

At her rich kid prep school!
