Rory situated herself behind the desk and became deeply absorbed in a well-worn copy of To Kill a Mockingbird.

[*cries at LJ* So sorry for the delay, people. For some reason, LJ hates my OCD and kept eating my comments. Hence why there is no lunchtime in the library today, unless I manage to fix it somehow.]

You'd think Rory would have learned about sleeping in public places.

Which is why she was NOT asleep with a book over her face. Really.

Okay...maybe she had been sleeping. Whatever. She was awake now, largely thanks to an enormous cup of coffee basically glued to her right hand.

And now she had seen fit to do some of that...work...stuff, and was sorting books for reshelving.

If Rory had been balancing a pen on her nose, she would have probably dropped it several times, and gotten an ink smear on her face at least once.

But she hadn't been.

Which is why that smudge on her cheek was really just your imagination.

But now she's gone to do installation art.

Lalala, still not here.

But she's back now, not that anyone ever comes in this late.

Cameron headed down to the library after math, carrying a bag. "Yo, Rory!"

"Hi, Cameron-who-gave-Jaye-a-trampoline," Rory said, waving.

"Got to spread the bouncy love," Cameron smiled and put the bag with chocolate cake down in front of Rory. "Thanks for organising things."

"No problem. And yay, cake! You didn't have to do that." Rory shrugged. "Organizing it was fun."

He shrugged. "I wanted to. There's no way I could have organised that at such short notice and I think she really had a good time so... thanks."

"Good morning," Zero said as she breezed in after Driver's Ed. "I need a nap."

"Morning. And go for it. I'll make sure the wallabies leave you alone," Rory replied with a wave.

"Seriously, not a problem. Party planning is a strong suit of mine," Rory said. "Think she had fun?"

And if Anakin's disappointed not to see her, he doesn't show it.

He sat down with a stack of books and proceeded to bury himself in research for his Tactics of War assignment.

"I'd say so, yeah." Although he might be thinking of after party hours fun too. "How about you? Now that Anakin's back?"

Zero looked wary. "Wallabies? Okay, now I'm awake."

Rory only looked slightly panicked at that, and replied, "I'm good. I missed him. I think we all did."

"There are wallabies that grow hair hopping around," Rory explained.

"Huh. They must live in the preserve. I've heard there are all sorts of weird animals out there."

"There was one in the dorms. What other kinds of animals live in the preserve, though?"

Cameron nodded. "It's good to have him back, he seemed happy to be back too when I spoke to him."

"Well, I was reading online about the Teal Deer. Apparently the Fandom preserve has one of the largest Teal Deer populations left in the wild in the world."

"Oh! Are those the ones that are like, really wee?"
