Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part II

The weather was lovely, the newbies had survived their shuttle, and yes, all the holes in the lawn from graduation had been filled and covered with new grass so everything looked normal and pretty. Well, pretty, at least.

[OCD is up! This is the picnic post for general mingling. Roommates, fake siblings and teachers are all here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"In that case, I hope you make any pilot proud to have you," Hera said, smiling. "I manage the scrapyard in town, by the way. We've got a lot of metal and machinery bits, if you ever want to tinker with some."

"A scrapyard?" She was from a planet of dead people or scavengers. That was totally new to her.

"A place where people take things they're not using anymore," Hera explained. "Often broken things or things they don't know what they are. Then other people can come and...well, theoretically buy them, I guess, but nobody's ever asked me to charge anyone for it. I think the place makes its money on the landing pad rentals."
