Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The weather had turned out absolutely lovely for today's picnic, through no interference of dark magic (as far as anyone knew). The bonfire had been scrapped for the season, replaced with more blue and gold chairs and tables for people to sit at. The usual buffet was out, and this time there were plates and to-go containers, because really, no one should have to resort to the unsanitary measure of pocket food in the 21st century.

Happy picnic day, everyone!

[OCD is up! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Yeah," Astrid admitted, grinning faintly. "Here I was thinking just a little watercolor in a sketchbook, I didn't think I'd be jumping into doing walls."

And possibly floors. Ceiling. She had a feeling Sabine might be the type paint anything that didn't move.

"I've always wanted to try them," Astrid admitted, with a kernel of excitement. "They match my style best, I think. I like to do a lot of flowers and plants, and there's jsut something about watercolor that works really well for flora."

It'd been too long since she'd been able to get her art talk on, okay.

"Mostly, yeah," Astrid shrugged. "Pencil and paper are pretty cheap and easy to get. My mom...used to work at a magazine, she was an editor, and when I was there, I did a lot of collages, stuff like that."

Astrid shrugged. "It helped pass the time, and the challenge was kind of fun, restricted by what was available." She gained a faint ghost of a smile. "I got more leeway when my mom was pissed at her bosses and she'd let me dig in with abandon to piss them off. Luckily for me, her bosses pissed her off a lot."

It would honestly be a surprise that Ingrid had lasted so long if it weren't for the fact that one of them had the hots for her.
